This role is an exciting opportunity to lead our APAC security operations, establishing reliable security measures, and partnering with various interested parties to uphold our high standards. Role Responsibility This position reports to the Global Head of Corporate Security in New York City. It manages daily security operations across Asia-Pacific (APAC), excluding India. The focus is on Technical Security, Project Management, and Physical Security Operations. Management of Physical Security Operations: - Ensure all APAC sites comply strictly with BlackRock’s global security standards through regular site assessments and collaboration with local collaborators to determine and implement corrective actions. - Develop and maintain comprehensive physical security Site Profiles, including mapping security build and installation, responsible persons, emergency contacts, and key locations. - Coordinate communication with Site Facilities Managers and Security Reps to increase understanding of security policies, processes, and initiatives. - Assist in developing and detailing SOPs for regional security, supporting the global Security Command Centers responsible for 24/7 monitoring and managing blocking issues. - Address and handle employee and BLK emergencies, offering assistance to reduce risks, with availability during evenings and weekends. - Provide vendor administration, HR/Legal investigations, and incident management support as directed. - Maintain strong ties with local vendors, government, and law enforcement officials, representing BlackRock at internal and external forums. - Support the Travel Safety Program, including risk assessments, vendor field security support, and training for employees traveling to higher-risk locations. - Work jointly with Global Events Management and the Global Head of Executive Protection on event security planning and oversight, involving occasional travel within APAC. - Support solid coordination between the security team and different areas, improving familiarity with security policies and managing incidents of policy non-compliance. - Develop regional/internal metrics, reporting, and dashboards, working closely with all Regional Security Managers. Technical Security and Capital Projects Management: - Coordinate operational delivery of the APAC Technical Security program, serving as a subject-matter expert and primary point of contact. - Play an integral role in APAC Capital Projects, supporting security build, installation, programming, and testing coordination. - Lead the development and deployment of infrastructure improvements and innovative technology systems. - Manage and develop embedded Technical and Project Officers, streamlining processes and improving KRIs and SLAs. - Collaborate with vendors on SLAs to improve operational delivery and team understanding of vendor contracts. - Contribute or lead regional tasks with a significant technical/physical or vendor management element as directed. Experience - Minimum 10 years of advancement in security management, with financial services experience preferred. - Strong knowledge of the geo-political landscape in APAC and experience in combined Technical Security/Physical Security environments. - Project management experience and knowledge of BCM, H&S, and life safety processes required. - Expertise in physical security solutions and networked Electronic Access Control Systems. - Effective communication skills, demonstrating critical thinking and good judgment. - Understanding of performance metrics and cost-saving opportunities. - Strong scheduling, prioritizing, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced collaborative team environment. - Ability to build and sustain productive working relationships across all levels within the organization. - Expertise in dealing with senior collaborators, with excellent judgment in handling critical issues and communication. - Bachelor's degree required. ASIS CPP Accreditation or similar is advantageous. Certification in H&S and security system integration fields of interest. - Candidates must live in the specified area. No relocation assistance offered. - Open to traveling and working flexible hours, including availability during evenings and weekends for urgent situations.
