Cloud Systems Developer – DevOps

OpenNebula

• Extend the integration of OpenNebula with Kubernetes • Develop and maintain Terraform modules for provisioning and managing virtualized infrastructures. • Design the automated deployment of virtualized infrastructures combining Terraform, Ansible and OpenNebula APIs. • Integrate OpenNebula with different cloud public cloud providers. • Understand and address the limitations and peculiarities of the networking and storage models of different cloud providers. • Test-driven development of large solutions integrating and extending open source products, and using Git based workflows to develop new features in the project repositories. • Writing and maintaining software documentation • Working with user use cases to test, debug, and troubleshoot software, assuring quality and functionality • Working with other companies in the cloud-edge ecosystem within international projects and open-source communities. • Availability to occasional travel and participation in international events and meetings • Working with the integration and deployment teams in support and issue troubleshooting and triage, the use cases and solutions team in discovery and demo sessions, and the community team in contributions to the open-source community.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience in cloud systems development and integration for cloud computing using open-source technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Experience integrating computing systems specially related to virtualization, storage and networking.
  • Experience deploying and using monitoring and alerting tools like Prometheus.
  • Design monitoring metrics and associated data structure.
  • Experience writing Terraform modules and managing deployments of virtualized infrastructures with Terraform.
  • Strong understanding of the networking and storage models of various cloud providers.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Ruby, Bash) for automation.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Kubernetes).
  • Good understanding of k8s ecosystem: networking infrastructure (CNI), Helm, persistent storage solutions.
  • Automated configuration management using Ansible, ensuring consistency across multiple environments.
  • English fluency at a professional or native-equivalent level, with excellent clarity and expression in both writing and speech.
  • Strong customer service mindset, with a focus on responsiveness and user satisfaction.
  • Clear communication and documentation with strong written and verbal English, async collaboration, and visibility of work.
  • Self-management and accountability with ability to work independently, manage time, and take ownership of tasks and deadlines.
  • Technical autonomy and tool proficiency with confidence in using Git, CI/CD, remote collaboration tools (Slack, Zoom, GitHub, etc.), and solving problems without direct supervision.
