Finance Manager
F&G - Fidelity & Guaranty Life Insurance Company
• Support the development of the financial plan and financial reporting for Peak Altitude • Manage the process to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results for Peak Altitude • Keep up to date with accounting regulations and guidance and ensure Peak Altitude is in compliance with guidance • Identify relevant GAAP accounting standards for financial reporting, purchase accounting and integration activities to ensure accurate accounting policies and processes are established and/or maintained • Assist with requests of both internal and external auditors • Establish strong working relationships with PDE finance and other senior leader(s) to promote transparency in financial reporting • Assist with ad hoc requests and other duties related to financial reporting and analysis, as assigned • Support the Finance Department’s due diligence process for potential acquisition opportunities identified for the Peak Altitude • Advise and/or support PDE to transition from cash to GAAP accounting, as applicable • Evaluate data and process needs to ensure accurate and complete financial reporting for PDE and Peak Altitude • Liaison with F&G FP&A, Treasury, Financial Reporting, and Tax to ensure all F&G financial reporting needs are met for all PDE • Collaborate with F&G Internal Audit & Financial Controls to identify and implement, as necessary, an internal control framework around the financial reporting process of the PDE and within Peak Altitude • Work with F&G Accounting and IT departments along with PDE to ensure proper financial reporting data flow • Advise in the development of process improvements (e.g., use of technology to drive automation) and efficiencies for flexible, scalable and accurate processes • Develop and manage timelines for an efficient, comprehensive process to produce financial projections and budget amounts for each PDE • In partnership with the Director, Peak Altitude Finance, hold providers of plan deliverables accountable for delivery on a timely basis • Manage the process for the production and distribution of aggregated GAAP projections and analysis across all PDE, considering material nonpublic information (MNPI) requirements • Establish a comprehensive understanding of key business performance drivers • Understand expense drivers for Peak Altitude as well as for each PDE and represent projected expenses accurately in the plan
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience required
- 7+ years’ operations experience in life insurance and annuity company and/or life insurance and annuity distribution company required
- Experience in financial plan preparation preferred
- Experience with M&A financial due diligence a plus
- Experience in independent life insurance and annuity distribution (IMO) financial reporting (Statutory and GAAP) preferred
- Experience in life insurance and annuity company financial reporting preferred
- Knowledge of life insurance and annuity products preferred
- Experience in end-to-end process design, project/product management/ownership preferred
- Experience with projections, general ledgers, databases and report writing preferred
- Experience with Excel and PowerPoint required.

Title: Consumer Indirect Underwriter II Location: San Antonio-TX Workplace Type:Remote Zip:78209 Job Description: Job Type: Full-Time- Remote in San Antonio Exemption Type: Non-Exempt Wage Amount: $28.57 hourly minimum The primary purpose of this position is to support A+ Federal Credit Unions indirect lending program by underwriting indirect loan applications and assisting with dealer relations by providing outstanding service to dealership partners. This position has the authority to make loan decisions within established guidelines and is responsible maintaining a working knowledge of all services and operations of the Credit Union, as well as complying with legal requirements, lending regulations, and internal policies and procedures. This role will serve as a subject matter expert for indirect underwriting and support training and coaching of Level I team members. Essential Functions: Indirect Underwriting - Perform complete reviews of loan applications including past credit history, stability factors, income, and membership accounts (when applicable), and render decisions using A+FCUs consumer underwriting guidelines. - Consistently meet or exceed established expectations such as application volume, approval ratios, delinquency, and loss ratios. - Make underwriting decisions on higher limit. - Work indirect underwriting queues and make timely loan decisions. - Contact dealers and applicants to verify application information. - Review tax returns and other supporting documentation, as needed. - Follow credit union procedures for fraud and red flag situations. - Act as a subject matter expert for dealers, employees, and members to advise on loan policy and procedures and explain loan decisions. - Assist team members with daily tasks to ensure that all applications have been touched and all member requests have been addressed. - Interpret procedural guidelines to negotiate terms of credit decisions with dealers, escalate as needed. - Identify cross-selling opportunities for loan products and services to provide value and promote member engagement. - Research and resolve issues related to individual member loans, accounts, or dealer transactions. - Make override or exception decisions within established guidelines and procedures. - Assist leadership team with resolving problems and triaging complex situations. - Assist with training and basic coaching for Level I team members. - Assist with leading team huddles and monthly dialogues. - Support underwriting and queues for direct vehicle, unsecured and home equity products as needed.
