Proximity Foundation runs structured coding education programs for young people aged 14-18 at Community Care Institutions (CCIs). Using a computer-based LMS curriculum covering HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL, we pair students with volunteer mentors in cohort-based sessions designed to build real technical skills and lasting confidence. We are scaling from the first cohort to many cohorts within Mumbai and building the operational team that will carry this program forward. Role Type - Volunteer Time Commitment - 3-4 hrs a week (Weekday evenings and/or weekends availability required) ROLE FOCUS Deliver mentor-led online coding sessions to students aged 14-18 at the CCI using the computer-based LMS curriculum. This is a direct mentorship role — you'll be in the online room with students, guiding them through HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL. • Complete month-end, quarter-end, and the year-end financial close processes accurately and based on timelines set. • Manage all accounting operations including all treasury and general accounting functions and implement efficiencies and automate repetitive functions as needed. • Work closely with finance, marketing, and operations teams during financial month-end close to ensure adequate completeness, accuracy, timeliness, accessibility, and consistency to company policies and IFRS / GAAP. • Develop, strengthen and execute internal control procedures to ensure that company assets are adequately protected and dual approvals are taken based on the signature of authority. • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial / cash flow forecasts and report variances. • Research technical accounting issues for compliance and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings; ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. • Additional controller duties as necessary.

• Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial results and position across multiple business units in collaboration with the National Service Center finance team. • Prepare and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs to monitor key operational, client, and financial metrics. • Support development and consolidation of periodic forecasts. • Perform variance analysis and help develop actionable insights to improve performance. • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly close processes for accuracy and completeness. • Support management of transactional processing functions including A/P, A/R, billing, payroll, and general ledger maintenance and in relation with the business (account manager, program coordinator, etc…) • Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline financial operations and reporting. • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual multi-entity close process; produce accurate consolidated GAAP financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) • Managing outsourced bookkeeping • Develop accounting policies, SOPs, and internal controls • Manage/oversee AP, AR, payroll accounting, reconciliations • Maintain reconciliations, schedules, and documentation at audit-ready standards • Own revenue recognition policy and execution (including complex data licensing and multi-element contracts) • Partner with Go-To-Market and Legal to ensure contract structures align with accounting treatment • Maintain deferred revenue schedules and ensure billing, collections, and reporting are clean and reconciled • Design and implement scalable internal controls • Prepare the company for financial audits and future diligence • Partner cross-functionally to ensure control maturity aligns with growth • Build documentation and workflows that support compliance and enterprise customer requirements • Lead the accounting systems roadmap (ERP, close tools, bill pay, spend management) • Leverage automation to reduce manual journal entries and reconciliation work • Identify and implement AI agents or workflows to assist with: • Reconciliations • Contract review • Close checklists • Policy drafting • Variance analysis • Establish an 'automation-first' mindset across the finance function • Manage outsourced bookkeeping, tax, payroll, and other accounting support • Establish clear service standards and quality expectations • Ensure outsourced workflows integrate seamlessly with internal systems • Oversee AP/AR workflows and improve billing and collections rigor • Strengthen working capital management • Support cash forecasting accuracy through clean accounting data
