MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB The Hebrew Linguist performs quality control tasks, transcreation tasks and on-demand translation tasks on assigned accounts/projects; coordinates the activities of a group of translators (internal and/or freelancers) and ensures that the work is performed at a satisfactorily high standard within the specified deadlines and quality level; ensures that the Language Process is being followed by the project team. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES - Performing copy-edit tasks on assigned projects or accounts - Performing on-demand translation tasks - Performing lead support on assigned projects or accounts - Managing and maintaining the language materials (including glossaries, Style Guides, work instructions) up to the quality standards and up to date as required by the account or project - Managing project-related queries - Ensuring good interaction among team members and resolving questions on terminology and language matters - Testing and qualifying new freelancers and vendors as required - Developing and training of internal linguists/new and existing freelancers according to the accounts’ and Welocalize’s needs - Interacting with clients on linguistic matters as required - Participating in the development of new and improved working processes - Meet or exceed the productivity KPI - Achieving the goals set by the Squad Lead REQUIREMENTS Education University degree in Translation/Applied Languages and related experience as translator and/or reviewer of 3+ years or equivalent work experience. Experience - Native-level fluency in the Hebrew language - Fluency in English, both written and spoken. - Experienced as a translator in : Mobile Apps, Search Engines, IT Consumer products, Entertainment, Marketing, Software UI, Websites - Excellent knowledge of terminology in the following subject matters: IT consumer products, social media, entertainment. - Thorough understanding of the localization process. - Good user experience of standard software, such as Windows and Office applications. - Good user experience of standard CAT tools, e.g., XTM, SDL Studio, and issue tracking and query management tools, e.g. JIRA - Ability to learn new localization tools and applications quickly. - Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. - Excellent knowledge of terminology used in two or more subject matters. - Ability to work with tight deadlines. - Ability to give clear, concise, and constructive feedback. - Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and linguists - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. - Ability and willingness to train/teach others and pass on knowledge. - Ability, willingness, and experience in communicating positively with customers at various levels - Ability to work within a virtual team

• Work and communicate with the client and other team members. • Reading materials and researching industry-specific terminology. • Converting text and audio recordings from Russian to English and/or vice-versa. • Ensuring translated texts conveys original meaning and tone.

• Localizing English Math videos into Telugu. • Reviewing and Editing KA Math Telugu content and/or creating and localizing new content (videos) as needed; keeping quality metrics in mind (Contextualisation, cohesion, rigor, clarity, pedagogical approach, etc.) • Collect on-ground feedback on content by interacting with state teachers and incorporating the feedback into the content. • Going through Telugu Math textbooks to highlight any modifications needed before localisation. • Reading through original material, reviewing it and recreating it in the target language in case needed, ensuring that the meaning of the source is retained. • Along with State Board and NCERT Books using specialist dictionaries, thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology and words used. • Researching on relevant phraseology to find the correct localization. • Proofreading and editing final translated versions on the basis of the basic quality parameters (Meaning, Readability, Compliance, Terminology, Consistency and Linguistics). • Retaining and developing knowledge on specialist areas of video localization. • Developing glossary for the specific terminologies to be used in Khan Academy’s localization process and continuously update it with new terminology.
