Staff Research Associate II

Position Definition: Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator, assist participants (older adults with mild cognitive impairment) enrolled in an NIA-funded clinical trial with technical set up. Essential Functions: - Helping participants download software (JackTrip) onto their laptop or desktop - Helping participants to connect their computer to the internet via ethernet cable - Helping participants to connect the audio interface box to their laptop or desktop - Helping participants to log onto the music sharing platform (JackTrip) - Showing the participant how to use the features of music sharing software (e.g., where the chat button is, how to toggle between different views; how to adjust volume - Assisting participants with accessing the online intervention group and troubleshooting by phone: - Perform other duties as assigned Job Requirements: - High school diploma or GED - Good computer and communication/customer-service skills - Ability to work with minimal supervision - Comfort working with older participants, some of whom may have minimal computer skills, on the phone Working Conditions/Environment: This position will be 100% remote. The work environment for this position will include an indoor office and a medical research environment. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, temperature variations, etc. The incumbent may sustain posture in standing or seated position and may utilize a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time. VA Onboarding Requirements: NCIRE is an affiliate organization of the San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS), which requires all candidates to complete SFVA onboarding in addition to NCIRE's onboarding process. The SFVA is a federal agency that requires a federal background check, occupational health clearance, vaccines and immunizations, and drug testing for certain positions. Drug testing may include screening for marijuana which remains an illegal substance according to federal law. The failure to pass required drug testing will disqualify candidates from employment. The base wage range for this position is $25.24 - $40.60 per hour. The wage actually offered to a successful candidate will take into account various relevant and non-discriminatory business factors including, without limitation, the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, and skills, and education, as well as internal equity considerations. A successful candidate may also be eligible to earn additional compensation including bonuses. NCIRE is an Equal Opportunity Employer. • Performs monitoring activities related to initiation, conduct (recruitment, quality data collection) and timely completion of Phase I-IV Pharma clinical trials • Serves as the primary site manager for assigned clinical investigative sites • Manages assigned study sites/networks, conducting phase I-IV protocols according to the monitoring plan and Novartis procedures • Facilitates the preparation and collection of site and country level documents • Performs Site Initiation Visit, ensures site personnel are fully trained on all trial related aspects • Conducts continuous monitoring activities (onsite and/or remote) • Accountable for continuously updating all relevant electronic systems to perform job functions • Monitors studies as per current legislations, ICH/GCP and Novartis standards • Ensures timely delivery, of high quality, robust and reliable data of the monitored sites
• Serves as the primary site manager for assigned clinical investigative sites (first point of contact between investigative site staff and Novartis) • Is the frontline liaison between Novartis and sites to ensure successful collaboration, meeting Novartis expectation on milestone and deliveries • Manages assigned study sites/networks, conducting phase I-IV protocols according to the monitoring plan and Novartis procedures • Facilitates the preparation and collection of site and country level documents • Performs Site Initiation Visit, ensures site personnel are fully trained on all trial related aspects and performs continuous training for amendments and new site personnel as required. • Conducts continuous monitoring activities (onsite and/or remote). Implements site management activities to ensure compliance with protocol, GCP, global and local regulations, global and local processes to secure data integrity and patient safety. • Accountable for continuously updating all relevant electronic systems to perform job functions • Takes on the responsibility as SME (Subject Matter Expert) as needed • Monitors studies as per current legislations, ICH/GCP and Novartis standards • Ensures timely delivery, of high quality, robust and reliable data of the monitored sites to support the goals of Trial Monitoring as defined by Trial Monitoring. • Identifies, resolves & escalates issues appropriately • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and site personnel to manage data query resolution process to ensure timely and accurate data entry • Proactively collaborates with the Clinical Project Manager (CPM) and CRA Manager as well as Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL), Clinical Regional Medical Director (CRMD), medical advisor and Strategic Site Partner to achieve key accountabilities • Partners with SSU CRA to ensure seamless transition of site responsibility
