Make Your Mark: As a Senior Software Engineer SAP, you will play a crucial role in building the next generation of BlackLine application and data platform with focus on SAP ERP components. You will be driving innovation into our product suite, especially with a focus on the business logic in the SAP module FI and CO as well as financial transactions in the SD and MM domain. Emphasis is on SAP services including troubleshooting, tuning, and preparing and proactive delivering solutions and designs for new solutions with a great sense of software architecture. Fiori UI development is a key element for this role. You'll Get To: - Provide technical expertise in requirements analysis, design, effort estimation, development, testing and delivery of highly scalable software. - Work with product management, your own team and other engineering teams to understand stated and unstated needs and turn them into functional and technical requirements. - Maintain a strong sense of business value and return on investment in planning, design, and communication. - Play an active role in technical design and architecture discussions and help drive technical decisions while making appropriate trade-offs on technology, functionality, robustness, performance, and extensibility. - Estimate the project scope and timelines and consistently deliver on those commitments. - Design, develop, Unit Test, optimize, scale, maintain and improve highly scalable and secure distributed backend services while adhering to requirements, coding and quality standards. - Develop functional and technical specifications and test plans. - Participate hands-on in implementation of components of products. - Mentor and coach colleagues, leading by example for them, and guide them to solutions on complex design issues and do peer code reviews. - Research, test, benchmark, and evaluate new tools and technologies, and recommend ways to implement them in product development. - Maintain high standards of software quality and technical excellence within the team by establishing good practices and writing clean, testable, maintainable, and secure code. - Proactively identify issues, bottlenecks, gaps, or other areas of concerns or opportunities and work to either directly affect change, or advocate for that change. - Perform critical maintenance, deployment, and release support activities, including occasional off-hours support What You'll Bring: Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or related disciplines Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Minimum of 7 years' experience with SAP ABAP Programming. - Environment, Development tools and Platforms: S/4HANA and ECC6.0 - Focus is on backend development. - Fluent with ABAP OO programming is expected, preferably with use of Eclipse/ADT. - Experience with RFC, OData, CDS. - Experience in product development. - Hands-on Experience with ABAP Unit Testing. - Used to think in Service-model driven architecture, rather than imperative software. - Being able to build the application using Clean Code principles e.g. SOLID and Responsible Driven Design. - Master in reorganizing or refactoring code. - Proactive and solution driven. - Well-considered and thorough in analyzing problems. - Capable of writing technical documentation, including UML charts. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Adaptable team player with strong collaboration skills and a focus on results and value delivery. - Experience working in an Agile development environment. - Passion for engineering excellence through automation, unit testing, and process improvements.
