POSITION SUMMARY: At Natera, we revolutionize the world of medicine by developing genetics products that combine cutting-edge technology and science. In order to achieve that we are looking for a Senior Software Quality Engineer who has experience in testing data products to join the team. The ideal candidate for this position would want to help develop software that lasts -- extensible, testable and self-documenting. No biology background is required but this is an excellent opportunity for a strong Senior Software Quality Engineer to bring their skills and expertise to the Life Science Industry. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The basics - Perform data-centric verification, define and execute automated validation scripts and test scenarios required for data platform quality assurance and regulatory compliance. - Participate in building and maintaining a data-driven test automation framework for validating large-scale data pipelines using automation tools and libraries. - Perform debugging and root cause analysis of product issues or defects. - Verify ETL/ELT processes and data warehouse schemas; define and execute data quality checks to ensure source-to-target mapping accuracy and adherence to healthcare regulatory standards - Evangelize new testing methodologies, best practices, and tools with goals to continuously improve test coverage. - Work closely with developers in all phases of SDLC to build quality into our development process. The fun things - Develop the testing strategy for the Clinicogenomics platform - Testing automation and tool selection for the Clinicogenomics platform. QUALIFICATIONS: - Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, with a heavy focus on ensuring data accuracy and consistency through Back-end and Database testing. - BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience - Healthcare IT experience is beneficial, but not required - Experience working in regulated environments is a plus - Experience working in validating reporting tools is a plus KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: - Extensive working knowledge of relational databases, strong SQL skills. - Recent hands-on experience with automation testing - Familiarity with scripting and programming languages such as Python - Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS - Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, test planning, system dependencies, and product integration phases The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations. Due to the nature of the project, all applicants must be U.S. citizens. This role can be done remotely, with a strong preference for candidates based in Cincinnati, OH.
