Job Description
Senior Manager, Software Engineering – Infrastructure
EasyPost
• Lead and manage the Platform Engineering team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to engineers across various levels. • Design, build, and evangelize Golden Paths and Service Scaffolding to reduce friction across the development lifecycle. • Identify high-friction or high-risk engineering workflows and design scalable, user-friendly platforms and tooling to improve them. • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of Shared DB Platforms, ensuring optimal performance, integrity, and security across the organization. • Lead efforts to design, manage, and optimize multi-cloud platforms using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, driving cost-efficiency and security. • Oversee the development, integration, and adoption of Observability Frameworks (metrics, tracing, logs). • Lead the development and implementation of robust Reliability Practices for the platform, including backup, recovery, capacity planning, and disaster recovery strategies. • Define and track meaningful metrics to evaluate developer experience, platform health, and team productivity — using data to inform what you build and how it evolves. • Collaborate with development, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure resilient, secure, and scalable services, and provide consulting on platform patterns like API Gateways and Service Meshes. • Contribute to the standardization and documentation of engineering practices across teams.
