About the role We are looking for an experienced and collaborative Senior Product Engineer to join our Engineering team and contribute to the development of the core of the Arbor Workflows product - our automation tool for the Arbor Product Suite that helps customers to get work done quickly and accurately. The remit and focus of the role is to lead and drive the successful completion of high-impact features, specifically contributing to the advancement of Arbor Workflows. It’s a broad and exciting role, so we’re looking for someone up for a challenge - if you’re highly technical and a good team player, this is the role for you. Core responsibilities - Work closely with the Product Director, Engineering Manager, Tech Lead and Product Manager to help solutionise feature requests - Contribute to the success of an ambitious roadmap through consistent delivery - Lead the creation of detailed documentation for new feature developments, incorporating diagrams for comprehensive project understanding - Drive the development and implementation of advanced tests around new features, ensuring the highest standards of test coverage and reliability - Demonstrate expertise in producing well-architected, efficient, and scalable code using industry-leading design patterns and methodologies - Take a leadership role in code reviews and pair programming sessions, guiding and mentoring colleagues towards excellence
Job Requirements
- About you
- Extensive, demonstrated experience designing and building high-performance, asynchronous services using Node.js, including modern TypeScript best practices
- Advanced understanding and application of best practices and software engineering principles, including SOLID, DRY, etc.
- Deep, hands-on experience designing, deploying, and optimising cloud-native solutions using the AWS Serverless ecosystem (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, Event Bridge, Fargate, etc)
- API Design and Implementation: Proven ability to architect and write scalable RESTful APIs within a service-oriented ecosystem
- Proactive problem-solver with a strategic, systems-level mindset regarding infrastructure, security, and cost optimisation within AWS
- Leadership qualities demonstrated through collaboration and mentorship.
- A team player, willing to muck in and help others when needed, a driven personality who asks questions and actively participates in discussions
- Expertise in various relational database technologies
- Good written and spoken English, so you can present your ideas - our HQ is based in London
