Associate Product Manager

Role Description The Associate Product Manager works closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers to support delivery against the four pillars of product success: - Valuable (something customers choose to buy and use) - Viable (solutions that work within business constraints) - Usable (products users can easily adopt) - Feasible (products we can reliably build and release) The purpose of this role is to support both discovery and delivery activities, helping the team deeply understand customer problems and translate those insights into well-shaped, deliverable product outcomes. This role balances execution excellence with hands-on involvement in discovery. Key Responsibilities - Product Discovery & Problem Understanding - Participate in discovery activities to understand customer problems, needs, and contexts. - Engage with customers, end users, and internal stakeholders to build empathy and insight. - Support synthesis of research, feedback, and operational learnings into clear problem statements. - Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to explore solution options. - Develop a deep understanding of customer workflows, pain points, and desired outcomes. - User Story Definition & Backlog Shaping - Write, shape, and maintain clear user stories in collaboration with the engineering team. - Help slice work into meaningful, incremental outcomes that deliver customer value. - Ensure user stories clearly articulate user needs, acceptance criteria, and business context. - Support backlog refinement to ensure work is well understood, prioritized, and ready for delivery. - Act as a bridge between customer intent and engineering execution. - Product Delivery & Execution - Support Product Managers in translating product direction into clear delivery plans. - Coordinate delivery activities across engineering, design, QA, and business stakeholders. - Track progress against plans, milestones, and release commitments. - Identify delivery risks, dependencies, and blockers and escalate appropriately. - Maintain delivery artifacts including timelines, release notes, and status updates. - Release & Launch Management - Coordinate product releases across teams to ensure readiness and alignment. - Support release planning, sequencing, and cutover activities. - Own support release communications to internal stakeholders. - Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to support product launches. - Assist in preparing launch materials such as release notes, FAQs, demos, and internal enablement content. - Product Operations & Ways of Working - Support agile ceremonies and ensure backlog readiness. - Maintain product documentation, acceptance criteria, and operational artifacts. - Help manage cross-team dependencies and shared delivery timelines. - Contribute to continuous improvement of product discovery and delivery practices. Qualifications - Minimum 3-5 years of overall professional experience in a corporate or fast-paced startup environment. - At least 1+ years of specific experience in Product Management, Product Coordination, or Product Operations. - Strong project coordination and organizational skills. - Experience working in agile software delivery environments. - Ability to write clear, user-centered stories and acceptance criteria. - Comfort collaborating closely with engineers on problem definition and scope. - Strong customer empathy and curiosity about user needs and behaviors. - Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. - Clear written and verbal communication skills. Requirements - Tertiary qualification desired but not essential. - 3-5 years total work experience, with at least 1 year in a dedicated product role (Product Management, Product Operations, or Product Coordination). - Experience supporting discovery, backlog refinement, or user story definition is required. - Exposure to SaaS, data, analytics, or cloud-based products desirable. - Passion for sustainability and solving real customer problems.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Must be able to attain a Top Secret clearance - Demonstrated understanding of government and industry related requirements in DoW and GEIA specifications and implementation of successful solutions that met customer needs - Experience with life cycle sustainment planning and execution requirements on new start development, production, and/or sustainment projects - Clear grasp of logistics engineering tools, processes, and datasets within related models and documents meeting DoW and/or GEIA standards and how they are applied to influence sustainment decision-making - History of executing a variety of technical sustainment engineering activities (Integrated Logistics planning; Level of Repair, Maintenance, Product support Analyses; Technical manual and source data development requirements; Curriculum development and delivery; Management of repairs and inventory etc) - Demonstrated level of comfort briefing and presenting concepts and data to internal technical/program leadership and customer counterparts at all levels that influenced decision-making - Good working knowledge of Reliability, Maintainability, and Product Safety to ensure emphasis is placed on designing for high levels of supportability and availability - Proven ability to act strategically in scheduling and coordinating ILS related sustainment needs and activities - Experienced in supporting technical proposal activities including Technical Volume development, evaluation of requirements within Statements of Work or Requests for Proposal, and creation of Product Support Basis of Estimates (BOE)s Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - Proven track record of increasing responsibilities in managing organizations of significant complexity, including managing individual projects and tasks through all aspects of the systems engineering lifecycle from requirements through development, test, production, sustainment and disposal - Familiarity with Model Based Engineering (MBE) and Model Based Product Support (MBPS) tools and methodologies - Experience overseeing the development of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals and Training documentation. - Experience developing and executing Contractor Logistics Support or Performance Based Logistics program requirements - Experience with cost account management and Earned Value Management - Experience with Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis - Familiarity with repair Depot activations and customer planning/coordination - Experience independently developing or performing some or all of the below tasks related to Integrated Product Support: - Support Analysis Plans - Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) - Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA) - Spares Analysis - Logistics Product Database development - S1000D compliant Technical Manuals - Service specific training curricula - User expertise in the use of ILS tools and models (COMPASS, SESAME, EAGLE, OPUS, ICAPS, Powerlog-J, SLICWave etc.) Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $153377 - $260743 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
