If you have Washington State Department of Health Medical Assistant Certification, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: - Delivers exceptional customer service and maintains established quality control standards - Schedules appointments and/or procedures following established scheduling guidelines - Verifies, schedules and updates pertinent patient information across Optum systems according to the standard work documentation in the electronic health record (EPIC) - Collects data relevant for processing patient requests from patients directly or other care team members - Communicates patient concerns or changes in patient's health status to physician or registered nurse - Assists in the coordination of clerical information necessary to provide patient care i.e. referrals, assisting patients with appointments, assists patients with the arrangement of tests and treatments prescribed by physician or registered nurse - Assist with indirect and direct patient care, ensuring smooth work and patient flow within the department - Obtains patient histories, medications, immunizations and other data in the Electronic Medical Record - Perform other duties as assigned You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: - High school degree/GED or equivalent experience - Certified Medical Assistant via Washington State Department of Health - 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a Primary Care or Urgent Care setting - Ability to work within the hours of Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm in the Pacific Time Zone Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Epic as an EMR - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
