Business Intelligence Developer - SaaS Solutions

VSP Vision Care

Function as a technical expert on large and/or complex information requests or projects for SAP. Act as a liaison and expert to business partners and clients on information solutions, such as, reporting, OLAP, Dashboards/scorecards, data stores and data access and analysis methods. Translate business needs for projects and broad scale initiatives into data analysis and web-based reporting solutions Follow Data Management processes and procedures and provide input to the creation of data definitions, business rules and data access methods Analyze trends and make recommendations to business partners Design, develop, code, implement and troubleshoot web-based reporting applications including designing and interfacing with back-end databases and data marts Contribute to the development and modification of coding standards for the team to ensure consistency, efficiency and accuracy in reporting and data analysis Collaborate with IT on database design, data mart structure and the technical architecture of the data delivery environment Participate in and/or lead the evaluation of future web-based data delivery and analysis methods and tools Write automated scripts for file back-up and maintenance Seek opportunities for innovation and improvement of division and departmental processes Job Specifications Typically has the following skills or abilities: Degree in Business Management, Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience 4+ years of business systems/procedures analysis experience 4+ years’ experience with 4GL languages (WebFocus, Mainframe Focus, SAS, Crystal, COGNOS, or other language), object-oriented analysis and design (SQL/ODBC) and web development tools (ASP, HTML, Java Script, VBScript) Working knowledge of ETL processes and working experience in developing information solutions in a data warehouse environment Ability to act as a mentor and/or technical expert for the team and business partners Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and work under strict deadlines Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties Preferred Skills: - Tableau Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Tableau Desktop and Server for creating interactive dashboards. - Data Manipulation: Ability to create calculated fields, parameters, and sets for dynamic reporting. - Advanced Techniques: Usage of Level of Detail (LOD) expressions, table calculations, and advanced charting. - Data Modeling: Blending and joining data from multiple sources (including SQL and cloud sources). - Performance Optimization: Tuning dashboard performance, optimizing data extracts, and managing data sources. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. As a part of the compensation package, this role may include eligible bonuses and commissions.
