Role Description The Trade Lane Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding relationships across assigned trade lanes within the logistics and supply chain sector. This role focuses on building strong, long-term partnerships with customers, partners, and stakeholders to generate new business opportunities and support revenue growth. The position is commercially focused and relationship-driven, requiring a proactive, confident professional who can engage prospects, nurture relationships, and support the successful onboarding and development of new business opportunities. The Trade Lane Manager will collaborate closely with internal commercial and operational teams to ensure seamless coordination and ongoing account growth. Duties & Responsibilities - Relationship Development & Management - Build, develop, and maintain professional relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders across assigned trade lanes. - Engage prospects and partners in professional and constructive business discussions. - Act as the primary relationship contact for assigned accounts and opportunities. - Nurture long-term partnerships to support sustainable business growth. - Business Development & Opportunity Generation - Identify and develop new business opportunities within assigned markets and trade lanes. - Introduce company services to prospective clients and explore collaboration opportunities. - Support prospects through engagement, onboarding, and account development processes. - Collaborate with internal commercial and operational teams to support business growth. - Trade Lane & Market Support - Develop and maintain an understanding of logistics processes, trade lanes, and supply chain operations. - Support expansion initiatives across targeted regions, industries, and customer segments. - Monitor market trends, opportunities, and relationship developments. - CRM & Administrative Management - Track all communications, opportunities, and relationship activity within the CRM system (HubSpot). - Maintain accurate and organised records of contacts, pipeline progress, and business interactions. - Provide regular updates on relationship status, opportunities, and performance activity. - Ensure smooth handover and coordination with internal teams as opportunities progress. Qualifications - Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships in a business environment. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Experience using HubSpot CRM, including pipeline management, activity tracking, and reporting. - Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously. - Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment. - Professional, reliable, and commercially aware. Requirements - Experience in logistics, freight, supply chain, or trade lane management. - Experience in business development, account management, partnerships, or customer-facing roles. - Experience working with international clients or partners. - Experience working in performance-based or commission-driven environments. - Own laptop suitable for full-time professional use. - Stable and reliable high-speed internet connection. - Backup power supply. - Dedicated home office workspace. Benefits - R35,500 per month (non-negotiable).
