Data Engineer
Funding Societies | Modalku Group
• Develops and maintains scalable data pipelines and builds out new API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity. • Collaborates with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization. • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies. • Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in technical or business discipline or related experience.
- 4+ years hands-on experience effectively managing data platforms, data tools and/or depth in data management technologies
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
- Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
- Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow.
- Experience in Data Warehouse solutions like Snowflake,Redshift.
- Exposure to data visualization tools (Tableau, Sisense, Looker, Metabase etc.)
- Knowledge of Github, JIRA is a plus.
- Familiar with data warehouse & data governance
- Experience developing software code in one or more programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, etc) is a plus.

We’re looking for a creative self-starter to support our Texting team as a paid intern for SPRING 2026 (March 2026 - May 2026). What does the role involve? As a texting intern at Middle Seat, you’ll learn the ins and outs of mobile fundraising and donor engagement. You’ll work closely with our texting team to draft fundraising copy, build and QA text campaigns, maintain reporting databases, analyze performance data, pitch creative ideas, and assist with administrative tasks and other responsibilities. You’ll also gain hands-on experience with high-profile progressive campaigns and non-profit organizations while learning how texting programs are built, tested, and optimized to balance donor relationships and fundraising. This role is available either in person at our Washington, D.C office or remotely. This role is not part of the bargaining unit.
