• Build and evolve core libraries and SDKs in Golang that empower product teams to ship faster • Shape and continuously improve our CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and observability ecosystem • Design scalable, high-performance systems that solve complex technical challenges • Take ownership of our data layer, driving performance and scalability across PostgreSQL and Redis • Partner closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to deliver platform capabilities that directly support business impact • Lead technical initiatives and influence the architectural direction of our internal platform • Strengthen system reliability and resilience, with involvement in on-call rotations for the infrastructure you help create
Job Requirements
- 7+ years of backend development experience in product-driven companies (B2B or B2C), including hands-on Golang experience
- Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, complexity) combined with practical system design skills — you understand how complex systems work, especially in distributed environments
- Comfortable working autonomously, owning projects end-to-end, and growing toward technical leadership
- Experience improving and evolving existing (including legacy) codebases
- Strong engineering mindset with attention to detail and a focus on real business and user impact
- Fluent English
- Nice to Have
- Experience with additional programming languages (e.g. Java, Kotlin, or others)
- Background in distributed systems and large-scale architectures
- Experience with Spring Boot
- Familiarity with cloud-native environments and CI/CD tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Any experience with VoIP systems or related side projects

Role Description The Data Platform team is responsible for the pipelines, search, and identity systems that are foundational to Vannevar’s flagship platform and agentic workflows. The systems we build and operate define and enforce standards for data processing, storage, access, and retrieval across a growing suite of 10+ products. You will be part of a team that builds and manages this business-critical infrastructure. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to serve as a technical leader—shaping patterns for enterprise-grade performance, scalability, reliability, quality, and security across the broader organization. You’ll partner closely with product engineering teams to standardize and centralize shared infrastructure, reducing duplication and improving developer velocity. You’ll also collaborate with our Information Security team to ensure our systems meet the stringent security and compliance requirements of DoD environments. Finally, you’ll have an opportunity to craft the long-term strategy for the platform, guiding architectural decisions and investments that enable the company to scale safely and sustainably.
