Electromechanical Engineer – Energy Storage Systems

• Actively interact with customers to understand product use cases and requirements throughout the entire project lifecycle • Support early product concept development and architecture definition • Design and integrate high-voltage and low-voltage harness routing and fastening from concept to production, with strong focus on safety, serviceability, and producibility • Develop high-voltage routing and busbar systems, ensuring compliance with creepage and clearance requirements • Package and integrate HV and LV electrical components, considering EMC, ventilation, condensation, safety, serviceability, and manufacturing constraints • Perform mechanical design of protective enclosures and support systems for electronic components and harnesses (metallic and plastic), accounting for mechanical loads and vibration • Design protective enclosures to safeguard against environmental impacts and contamination • Apply design-for-manufacturing and cost-optimization principles • Support electrical and system engineers in preparing schematics and formboard drawings • Support interface selection (connectors, switches, indicators, etc.) to ensure system requirements are fulfilled • Create technical drawings for customers and manufacturing • Support product and documentation release in Teamcenter • Participate in prototyping and validation of designed components
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of mechanical design experience, including exposure to cell integration, structural integration, power electronics, or high-performance lithium-ion batteries
- Experience with plastic parts and injection molding
- Experience with various mechanical joining methods
- Strong hands-on CAD skills
- Excellent analytical skills, particularly in design for safety, production, and serviceability
- Experience working in international teams and with customers
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Experience from a start-up environment is a strong plus.
