Job Description

Dairy Field Technician

AgSource

• Provide data and milk sample collection services on dairy farms in a safe, timely and professional manner • Accurately record test day information electronically on tablets, laptops or other means • Transport and set-up milk sample meters at the dairy farm on test day, prior to the start of testing • Accurately identify and stow sample bottles in racks, preserving the identity of each sample bottle • Clean equipment as appropriate at the conclusion of testing • Transfer records via the company’s proprietary software • Carry out effective business management practices in accordance with AgSource policy and guidelines • Promote and adhere to safety in the workplace • Provide service to members in absence of their regular field technician • Assist a team of technicians in providing service to a member • Work in both assigned region/area and other services areas as requested by Region Managers.

Job Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in a service business is desirable and an understanding in dairy farming is preferred
  • Self-motivated and dependable with desire to develop personally and professionally
  • Sales and service person that has ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Computer skills are required; ability to work with or experience with Dairy Herd Management software is a plus
  • Must possess good communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work shifts that vary in time of day, and length, and could be longer than eight hours
  • Candidate should have the ability to be on feet for long periods of time, which may include walking, standing, climbing stairs and/or ladders
  • Must have reliable transportation and automobile insurance.
