Job Requirements
- 4 years of experience as an Analytics or Data Engineer
- You’re fluent in written and spoken English (please also submit your resume in English.)
- Building OLAP systems and creating and maintaining dimensional models
- Working with backend data engineering solutions using SQL and/or Python
- Python for data manipulation (mostly Pandas)
- Proven experience with data warehouses and associated tooling
- Hands-on experience with relational databases and performing advanced SQL queries.
- Experience working on data modeling and ETL tools
- Ability to understand business needs, partnering with Business Analysts and Data Analysts, to transform into technical requirements and specifications to support data engineering and analytics engineering development
- Collaborating with analysts, data scientists, engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to evolve our data platform and products
- Having a deep understanding of dimensional modeling, data management, data privacy and governance
- A self-starter, innovative, result-focused and team-oriented
- Possessing a growth mindset, sense of curiosity and strong problem-solving skills; you are constantly learning about emerging market trends to identify potential opportunities and gaps.

The Team As a Senior Analytics Engineer at Upstart, you will design and develop robust and scalable data models for analytical stakeholders to empower them to retrieve meaningful insights. Our analytics engineering team is centralized within the company and partners closely with data engineering, data platform, software engineers, ML engineers and cross functional analytics squads to stitch together datasets to create data models that are ready for consumption. In addition to architecting data models, we implement Analytics Engineering best practices around Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Orchestration and pipeline optimization. We enable analysts to think like software engineers by defining, documenting and ensuring adoption of best practices when making contributions to the analytical code-base. Position Location - This role is available in the following locations: Remote, San Mateo, Columbus Time Zone Requirements - Travel Requirements - This team has regular on-site collaboration sessions. These occur 3 days per quarter at an Upstart office. If you need to travel to make these meetups, Upstart will cover all travel related expenses.
