Test Automation Engineer – UI & API Automation

Software Mind

• Participate in daily team meetings and Agile ceremonies • Extend and maintain existing test automation scenarios across both frontend and backend layers • Review results of regular (nightly) test runs • Investigate failures in test runs, rectify problematic tests, and log defects as necessary • Develop functional automated tests for new features covering both UI and API layers • Engage in code reviews, coverage reviews, and peer review meetings • Analyze requirements for new features before implementation to gain a comprehensive understanding of expected behavior and its impact on other features • Whenever possible, refactor and enhance the quality of existing automation solutions • Establish test coverage by breaking down complex business features into automation test scenarios

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in test automation, covering both UI and API automation
  • Practical experience with UI automation using Cypress or Playwright
  • Practical experience with API automation and testing REST APIs, with hands-on exposure from previous projects
  • Demonstrated programming proficiency adhering to coding best practices, with working knowledge of at least one of the following: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Scala, or a similar language
  • Ability to work in a hybrid QA model, combining both manual and automated testing
  • Familiarity with tools like Postman or similar for API interaction and exploration
  • Basic understanding of automation best practices, Quality Assurance principles, and CI/CD concepts
  • Experience with version control tools, particularly Git
  • Good understanding of HTML and CSS
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking abilities, with a natural curiosity to understand the broader context of a feature
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
