Senior Engineering Manager
Delivery Hero
• Lead the Fintech engineering domain through a mixed team structure • Partner closely with Product Managers to support new payment capabilities • Work closely with Finance stakeholders to improve finance flows • Provide technical leadership across the domain • Drive execution across multiple services and teams • Support the team in balancing feature delivery and technical improvements • Coach, mentor, and support growth of engineers and managers • Contribute to domain planning and roadmap definition • Ensure domain services are reliable, secure, scalable, and well-operated • Promote effective collaboration across engineering, product, and finance teams
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
- At least 4 years in engineering management roles
- Strong experience in engineering leadership roles
- Proven people management experience
- Ability to lead senior engineers
- Experience managing managers is a strong plus
- Strong technical background in backend and distributed systems
- Ability to guide architecture and engineering decisions in a microservices environment
- Proven experience coaching engineers and engineering leaders
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in English

• Managing a team of software engineers who design and implement authentication and authorization systems for use within Canva. • Primarily focused on protecting customer PII and UGC. • Owning the strategy for identity and access at Canva, balancing security, compliance and developer experience to build an experience that allows Canvanauts to move quickly, while having secure guardrails in place. • Coach and develop engineers by providing regular, practical feedback to help them reach their personal growth goals • Own the team’s development methodology including sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives resulting in a high-performing team • Working collaboratively with other partner groups such as Infra and IT to build systems that scale beyond our team. • Driving adoption of our systems internally, championing the benefits of what we build.
