• Managing a team of software engineers who design and implement authentication and authorization systems for use within Canva. • Primarily focused on protecting customer PII and UGC. • Owning the strategy for identity and access at Canva, balancing security, compliance and developer experience to build an experience that allows Canvanauts to move quickly, while having secure guardrails in place. • Coach and develop engineers by providing regular, practical feedback to help them reach their personal growth goals • Own the team’s development methodology including sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives resulting in a high-performing team • Working collaboratively with other partner groups such as Infra and IT to build systems that scale beyond our team. • Driving adoption of our systems internally, championing the benefits of what we build.

• Set and deliver the strategy for the DFIR team within Detection & Response, aligned with Security & Trust priorities. • Lead security engineers, ensuring clarity of direction, accountability, and high performance. • Direct the evolution of Canva’s Security Operations, threat hunting, and incident response capabilities. • Evaluate complex, multi-dimensional security challenges and guide the development of innovative, scalable solutions. • Embed operational excellence, metrics, and automation to drive measurable improvements in detection and response maturity. • Partner with stakeholders during high-severity incidents, providing clear risk framing and decisive leadership. • Build and retain world-class security engineers who raise Canva’s security bar.

• Leading and developing a team building cross-platform, on-device ML infrastructure and features in C++ across iOS, Android, and web. • Setting team direction and translating complex, evolving problem spaces into clear priorities and milestones. • Creating an environment where thoughtful planning, strong execution, and continuous improvement are the norm. • Partnering closely with Platform, Research, Product, and ML stakeholders to deliver meaningful user impact. • Strengthening engineering foundations across architecture, performance, testing, CI, and maintainability. • Supporting responsible production ML practices including experimentation, iteration, and performance monitoring. • Building an inclusive, psychologically safe culture where people feel supported, trusted, and able to do their best work.
