Senior Legal Engineer

Role Description Ontra is seeking a Senior Legal Engineer reporting to our Associate Director, Legal Intelligence. We’re looking for someone excited to collaborate with product teams and customers to develop innovative legal tech solutions, create and deliver comprehensive enablement materials, monitor industry trends to keep our products cutting-edge, and spearhead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency using AI. - Work closely with the Product organization to develop and refine new products and features, ensuring they align with client needs and industry standards. - Develop and deliver training materials such as webinars, 1:1 training, and self-directed courses to educate Ontra employees and legal network members. - Keep an eye on relevant markets, including legal tech, private funds, and big law to inform product enhancements and industry alignment. - Drive operational efficiency and reduce onboarding costs by piloting new initiatives and embracing creative AI-first solutions. - Act as a technical subject matter expert by providing consulting support on multiple projects, participating in meetings with product managers, development teams, and clients. Qualifications - 4+ years of directly relevant legal experience with a focus on transactional law. Private credit experience is a plus. - Possession of a JD, LLM, or LLB, with US qualifications preferred but not mandatory. - Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities; prior experience in a customer-facing role is advantageous. - A strong interest and enthusiasm for technology and its integration in legal practice. - Demonstrated organizational excellence and high ownership, with a proactive approach to building systems, problem-solving, teamwork, and results orientation. The Role: Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, Commercial, the Senior Brand Counsel, Commercial will be a critical part of Nuvalent’s Legal Department and will contribute significantly to the success of our growing organization. In this role, you will be responsible for advisement on a host of strategic and tactical issues related to the development and future commercialization of prescription drug products. Responsibilities will include advising on matters governed by healthcare fraud and abuse laws, FDA regulations, state and federal drug pricing and transparency laws, access and reimbursement matters, privacy laws and providing legal guidance on patient support programs. Senior Brand Counsel, Commercial will act as the brand lawyer and reviewer on the Promotional Materials Review Committee and the Medical Review Committee. This role will also have the opportunity to support cross functional compliance initiatives and other key projects across the organization. We are looking for an attorney with product launch experience and a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset to join the Nuvalent team.
