Staff BI Engineer

• Administer and manage Sigma Cloud environment including user provisioning, role-based access, and governance. • Manage warehouse connections (Snowflake / cloud DW integrations). • Monitor query performance and cost governance. • Troubleshoot dashboard performance, model-level issues, and data refresh failures. • Implement SSO and authentication integrations (Okta / Entra ID). • Coordinate with Sigma support for escalations and product issues. • Administer Power BI Service, workspaces, and capacities. • Manage licenses, roles, RLS policies, and Service Principals. • Maintain and monitor Gateways. • Support Fabric capacities (if applicable). • Automate tasks via Power BI REST APIs. • Perform RCA for refresh failures, dataset performance issues. • Manage Tableau Cloud / Server environments. • User access management and license governance. • Maintain Bridge nodes (if applicable). • Perform version upgrades and patching. • Monitor extract refresh failures and server performance. • Own platform health monitoring across all BI tools. • Conduct root cause analysis for dashboard/report failures. • Ensure SLA adherence during support window (4:30 PM – 1:00 AM IST). • Maintain SOPs and documentation. • Collaborate with data engineering teams for data pipeline troubleshooting. • Communicate outages, planned upgrades, and platform advisories.

Job Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in BI platform engineering or administration.
  • Hands-on production support experience in enterprise BI environments.
  • Experience managing US stakeholders / working in US overlap shifts.
  • Strong troubleshooting and RCA capability.
  • Excellent communication skills.
