Role Description The AirCover Claim Platform team at Airbnb is responsible for providing comprehensive protection for both guests and hosts. We manage the AirCover program, which includes: - Host Liability Insurance - Experience Liability Insurance - Host Damage Protection As a Senior Software Engineer on the AirCover Claim Platform team, you will: - Play a pivotal role in building and advancing the platform that powers comprehensive protection for Airbnb’s hosts, guests, and agents. - Help shape the technical vision and deliver flexible, scalable solutions that enhance efficiency and improve experiences across our global community. - Take on complex challenges and drive projects that deliver measurable improvements for our users and create significant business value. Qualifications - 7+ years of software development experience, or 5+ years with an advanced degree. - Proficiency in one or more backend languages and frameworks such as Kotlin, Java, or Python. - Experience architecting and building solutions to large-scale, complex problems, including APIs, data pipelines, and integrations across multiple teams with significant impact. - Comfortable working across the backend stack to solve technical challenges. - Strong communication skills; able to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams with design, product, data science, and research partners. - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
