Job Description Summary We are seeking an experienced and innovative leader to drive the vision, strategy, and execution of our Sensing and Diagnostics Portfolio product line. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping our technology differentiation, market positioning, and long-term growth across global markets. The leader will oversee a rapidly expanding portfolio combining software-defined Asset Performance & Device Management (APM & DvM) solutions, advanced substation monitoring systems, and Monitoring and & Diagnostics products—critical elements for modernizing and securing the transmission and distribution grid. The role carries the unique challenge of simultaneously sustaining growth of proven hardware-based offerings (e.g., M&D products) while transforming the business into a software-driven solutions provider. Success requires guiding customers through this transition by removing adoption barriers, demonstrating clear value from digitalization, and ensuring seamless integration between hardware and software portfolios. This complexity demands a leader with deep business acumen, strong technology insight, and proven ability to align cross-functional teams behind a dual mandate: deliver short-term business performance in conventional products while scaling next-generation software solutions for long-term impact. Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial and Product Officer (CCPO) of Grid Automation, the leader will oversee industrialization, go-to-market strategy, and commercial development of the portfolio. Collaboration with regions, supply chain, customers, industry leaders, and the GA CTO Organization (R&D execution) will be essential. The role also requires active engagement across GE Vernova, the Electrification segment, and other Grid businesses to maximize collaboration, drive cross-business initiatives, and accelerate growth. Job Description Major Responsibilities: - Build strong customer connections, develop industry insights, and identify new growth opportunities in TSO, DSO, and industrial segments. - Set strategic vision and execution for Sensing and Diagnostics Portfolio portfolios, ensuring competitive differentiation, market relevance, and sustainable growth. - Define and manage roadmaps and business cases for the whole offerings. - Drive technology differentiation by leveraging advanced analytics, AI/ML, software-defined automation, data fusion, and communication technologies in partnership with the GA CTO organization. - Define NPI needs, time to market requirements and business impact. - Develop customer connections and thought leadership to anticipate industry trends, drive adoption, and position GridBeats™ as a brand leader. - Partner with commercial teams to define marketing, go-to-market strategies, services, and regional growth plans. - Lead and develop diverse, high-performing teams, building organizational capabilities and a culture of innovation, accountability, and inclusion. - Propose and evaluate internal and external partnerships, alliances, and acquisitions to accelerate growth and strengthen portfolio positioning. - Contribute to the definition and execution of Grid Automation’s long-term strategy. Qualifications / Requirements - Master’s degree from an accredited university or college; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred. - 20+ years of leadership experience in software businesses, in functions like product management, business management within the Transmission & Distribution or industrial automation sectors. - Proven track record in defining software product strategies, managing portfolios, and driving profitable growth. - Strong business and technical acumen, with a demonstrated interest in commercial and business development aspects. - Strategic thinker with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset, comfortable making decisions under uncertainty. - Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams, influence stakeholders, and represent the business externally. - Deep domain knowledge of Electricity Transmission, Distribution, Industrial, and Automation markets. For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements: The salary range for this position is $198,000 to $280,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s geographic location, experience, education, skill set, and work location.
