Mainframe Developer

DATAGROUP

• Ensure the smooth operation of the supported application systems • Handle service requests and incidents, including analysis and problem resolution • Propose ideas for system improvements, optimization, and automation of existing applications • Further develop applications based on functional, technical, and regulatory requirements • Collaborate closely with other mainframe system engineers, business analysts, and the client's operations team • Create detailed requirements, specifications, and program code • Test and document program code

Job Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience
  • Very good German language skills (minimum level B2)
  • Experience with software tools such as: IBM ISPF, IBM IMS/DC, IBM CICS, IBM RACF, IBM TWS/OPC, IBM RD/z, Compuware FileAid, Compuware Xpediter, Atlassian JIRA
  • Experience with IBM Job Control Language (JCL), COBOL, and SQL
  • Optional: IBM REXX, PL/1
  • Databases: IBM DB2 on Mainframe
  • Operating systems: Z/OS (OS/390 - MVS/XA), Windows
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

Here are the details on this position.​ Your role in our mission Apply your skills to support Gainwell as we help clients deliver better health and human services outcomes. - Support of COBOL and DB2 mainframe environment - Design, develop, install, test and document applications software - Involved in designing, documenting, and delivering technical architecture solution elements - Support coordination between application architects and developers to make sure design requirements are accurate and deliver the desired ROI for clients - Define and develop project requirements, functional specifications and detailed application solution designs for clients - Focus on the details as you develop technical documentation and test plans to support integration and deployment What we're looking for - 6+ years of mainframe programming and on-call support experience coding in COBOL and DB2 in a JCL and IBM mainframe environment. - Familiarity with Easytrieve and FileAid - Experience with all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle. - Healthcare IT experience with healthcare claims, Medicaid or Medicare systems is preferred.
