• Support the development of a new NZQA Level 9 Master of Design programme. • Work closely with the Chief Academic Officer and programme development team to refine curriculum structure and ensure NZQA alignment. • Contribute expert guidance on learning outcomes, assessment design, graduate capabilities, research methodologies, and industry/community relevance.

Job Requirements

  • Deep expertise in design practice and research — e.g., communication design, digital/interactive, service/systems design, creative technologies, innovation, or related creative fields.
  • Strong understanding of postgraduate (Level 8–9) pedagogy, including practice‑led and interdisciplinary research models.
  • Experience developing or reviewing NZQA programmes, university curricula, or postgraduate qualifications (preferred but not essential).
  • Ability to interpret and apply NZQA Level 9 expectations, including GPOs, research rigour, and assessment standards.
  • Knowledge of Aotearoa New Zealand design contexts, including Te Tiriti o Waitangi responsiveness, cultural frameworks, and sector needs.
  • Contemporary awareness of design challenges, such as sustainability, human‑centred and earth‑centred approaches, emerging technologies, and social impact.
  • Strong collaborative and communication skills, with the ability to work alongside academics, industry advisors, and creative practitioners.
