Please note this is a fully remote position with EST working hours but we're open to candidates from all provinces. Responsibilities - Proactive collaboration in the project team to help develop the product using your experience to help guide the team through the entire development lifecycle - Ensuring code quality and governance - Ensuring engineers follow any patterns/designs set out and agreed with project leads - Planning, estimating, and contributing to the architecture, coding, and development - Refactoring and continuous improvements of the codebases - Ensuring that technical decisions and information are communicated thoroughly to the global team - Taking responsibility for releases and contributing to the ongoing support of live apps - Looking beyond pure programming, get involved with the deployment and operation of the software we build (DevOps) - Delivering fair outcomes for our customers, ensuring conduct maintains a high level of professionalism

• Write code for the heart of our next-generation distributed database • Maintain, improve and extend the code base of our Open Source CrateDB database • Ensure quality through test driven development • Think about performance and security as keys to build sustainable features • Do research on state-of-the-art data crunching techniques • Fun working together with a team on new and edgy technology • Working in a mostly asynchronous environment with few meetings • Contribute to open-source libraries or tools we use

• Develop and maintain Drivers for CrateDB (JDBC, Python/SQLAlchemy, etc.) • Connections to external tools (Grafana, Tableau, Airflow, etc.) • Internal administrative tools (crash CLI, Admin UI) • Improve PostgreSQL-compatibility of CrateDB and its ecosystem • Migration tools from/to other databases systems and storage formats • Write and maintain technical documentation like reference architectures, integration examples, etc. • Work and interact with your Open Source community and technical partners on joint projects • Support our Product Managers with technical requirements

• Building and maintaining our platform on top of our cutting-edge voice models, which are used by millions of users. • Improving our existing products to ensure that they’re intuitive, powerful and make innovative use of our research team’s latest break-throughs. This could involve adding significant functionality, or building integrations with other common consumer/enterprise solutions. • Maintaining and strengthening our internal infrastructure as we scale and grow to ensure that our products remain live, performant and secure. • Collaborating closely with engineers and others from the Frontend, Growth and Sales teams to understand, and design solutions for our customers.
