CrateDB

• Develop, evolve and drive Crate DB ’s strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are recognized as best in the industry • Establish shared vision across the company by building consensus on strategies and priorities leading to product execution • Manage multiple products and priorities and ensure your org is effective, healthy and set up for success by establishing clear and measurable goals • Identifies and initiates opportunities for new projects or focus areas and builds teams necessary to execute • Coordinate product roadmaps with all stakeholders • Attract, build, manage, and develop a talented, diverse, equitable and inclusive team of product managers, product owners, UX designers and tech writers • Inspire and drive activity cross-functionally through information sharing, persuasion and mutual respect • Set and own process to ensure effective new product ideation and hypothesis testing process • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products • Act as a product evangelist both inside and outside the company

• Collaborate closely with backend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver an easy-to-use user interface to CrateDB and CrateDB Cloud • Define and implement best practices for web development, deployment, and security • Partner with Product Management to prioritize and plan new features, improvements, and technical debt reduction

• Write code for the heart of our next-generation distributed database • Maintain, improve and extend the code base of our Open Source CrateDB database • Ensure quality through test driven development • Think about performance and security as keys to build sustainable features • Do research on state-of-the-art data crunching techniques • Fun working together with a team on new and edgy technology • Working in a mostly asynchronous environment with few meetings • Contribute to open-source libraries or tools we use

• Develop and maintain Drivers for CrateDB (JDBC, Python/SQLAlchemy, etc.) • Connections to external tools (Grafana, Tableau, Airflow, etc.) • Internal administrative tools (crash CLI, Admin UI) • Improve PostgreSQL-compatibility of CrateDB and its ecosystem • Migration tools from/to other databases systems and storage formats • Write and maintain technical documentation like reference architectures, integration examples, etc. • Work and interact with your Open Source community and technical partners on joint projects • Support our Product Managers with technical requirements
