Engineering Manager, Federal Professional Services

• Management and oversight of a workgroup/function with a responsibility to develop team members to perform at a higher level by giving opportunities, providing timely continuous feedback, and communicating expectations. • Ensure testing, analysis and/or approach methodologies for all relevant service offerings are documented, updated and enforceable across the consultants within the group. • Provide preliminary and comprehensive review of project deliverables to ensure content is appropriate and address the requirements of the project as defined in the statement of work and as desired by the customer. • The Engineering Manager is responsible for initial deliverable review and collaboration with the consultants on the project and then enables the QA review process before delivering the project to the customer contacts. • As both a leader/mentor and as a billable resource – participate in customer engagements to ensure standards for technical execution are being adhered to and less seasoned consultants are being groomed for success within their role. • Remote consultant coaching/training during engagements. • Engagement Initiation (Kick-off calls, onsite presentations, first day of onsite work for meet & greet, etc.) • Engagement Close Out (preliminary out-brief, deliverable review, formal presentations, etc.) • In addition to the methodologies and checklists - ensure resources leveraged by the consultants are current and accurate. • Create, build and execute systematic delivery methodologies that drive consistent client satisfaction and support the overall Services organization. • Work with the Services Operations team to review staffing assignments and assist in staffing decisions for engagements. • Work with consultants being staffed on projects to ensure they have adequate resources and engagement delivery plans in place to execute the required scope successfully. • Review daily status reports (whether manual or through automated portal) for engagements occurring within their group for technical quality and work directly with consultants if improvements or modifications are needed. • Participate in client kickoff and out-brief calls when required (non-principal resources executing) and help consultants to craft appropriate materials for those meetings/presentations. • Ensure that engineers are working with the account team and practice SA’s regarding identified customer opportunities during the engagement. • Track consultant opportunity identification performance on each engagement and provide coaching (where appropriate) to improve performance. • Work with consultants to ensure staffing decisions take their goals and desires into account, pair up resources as required and provide support and mentorship throughout an engagement as required or when there is a skills gap. • Work with consultants on annual training goals and planning to enhance the skill set required for their role. • Work with consultants to develop research or training plans that are necessary for pre-engagement skill building and keep track of the pending project funnel to understand where gaps may exist.

Job Requirements

  • Hold at least a Top-Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and approximately 5-10 years of related work experience.
  • Approximately 5-10 years of technical architecture experience or in-depth consulting and implementation experience.
  • Understanding of governance and compliance, specifically with FAR, DFARs, CUI and CMMC.
  • Must understand FedRAMP and IL constructs and operating in classified environments.
  • Preferred previous people management experience including but not limited to performance reviews, mentorship and coaching, communication, goal setting, and development activities.
  • Experience in providing guidance in strategy at a programmatic level.
  • Experience in managing and prioritizing the proposal process to create business proposals, contracts, and respond to RFI/RFP’s.
  • Ability to clearly articulate the benefits of your Optiv + ClearShark subject matter product and service solutions portfolio to various client stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in a pre-sales, post-sales, or non-sales technical capacity in an information security environment.
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively with vendors, prospects, clients, account managers and management.
  • Confident presentation, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Desire to learn additional subject matter areas.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and presentational skills; ability to clearly communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Possess high standard of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Willingness to travel to meet client needs.

This position can be remote from the U.S. or based in any AECOM office within the United States. The focus of your experience must be in the power delivery industry and be associated with electrical engineering with respect to the physical design of utility scale substation development. The responsibilities for the position include, but may not be limited to: • Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team. • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for substation scopes. • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others. • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables. • Develops estimates of technical efforts for projects. • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings. • Prepares technical specification sections. • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements. • Responsible for assisting with identification of key client interests and drivers and may determine the key clients in some instances. • Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work. • Remove any impediments that are obstructing the engineering team from achieving its goals. • Works to advise Management about how to maximize ROI for the team. • Attending all client technical review meetings.
