Role Description We're looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to lead and optimize the AR function at Vert Environmental. In this role, you'll oversee the full accounts receivable cycle, from invoicing to collections and reporting, while managing a team of AR specialists. You'll be responsible not only for day-to-day operations but also for improving processes, strengthening internal controls, and driving overall AR performance. This role is a strong fit for someone who combines leadership with hands-on execution and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. - Lead and oversee all AR operations, including invoicing, collections, payment processing, and reconciliations - Manage, train, and develop the AR team, including performance and workload oversight - Drive collections strategy, including follow-ups, escalations, negotiations, and agency involvement - Ensure timely invoicing, payment collection, and resolution of billing discrepancies - Maintain accurate financial records, including invoices, payments, and account documentation - Monitor aging reports and take action to reduce outstanding balances - Prepare and present regular AR and collections reports to leadership - Collaborate with leadership, external CFO, and cross-functional teams on financial operations - Oversee credit evaluations, credit memos, and account risk management - Reconcile payments (ACH, credit card, deposits) and ensure accurate posting - Manage lien releases and ensure compliance with required documentation - Support the month-end close processes related to accounts receivable - Improve AR workflows, systems, and policies to increase efficiency and accuracy - Lead team meetings and ensure alignment with company financial goals - Maintain confidentiality and stay up to date with best practices and regulations Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field - 2+ years of experience managing Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable functions - Strong experience with invoicing, collections, and AR reporting - Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite - Strong understanding of AR processes, internal controls, and collections strategies - Proven ability to manage and develop a team - Excellent communication skills with a professional, client-focused approach - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - High level of integrity when handling financial data - Experience working with US-based clients and business practices - Comfortable working remotely and aligned with PST hours Requirements - Analytical thinking and the ability to identify trends and improve processes - Accountability and ownership of results - Strong people management and team development skills - Proactive problem-solving and decision-making - Technical expertise in AR systems and financial operations Company Description Vert Environmental is a third-party industrial hygiene consulting and testing company serving residential and commercial clients. Senior Representative must have the ability to work closely with management and team members working an inventory of collectible accounts that bring in revenue and possess the the following: - Conduct telephone calls utilizing a professional demeanor when contacting payors and/or patients in order to obtain collection related information - Basic computer skills to navigate through the various system applications provided for additional resources in determining account actions (may work in multiple systems for clients) - Access payer websites and discern pertinent data to resolve accounts - Utilize all available job aids provided for appropriateness in follow-up processes - Document clear and concise notes in the patient accounting system regarding claim status and any actions taken on an account - Maintain department daily productivity goals in completing a set number of accounts while also meeting quality standards as determined by leadership - Skilled in working with complex medical claim issues - Identify and communicate any issues including system access, payor behavior, account/work-flow inconsistencies or any other insurance collection opportunities - Compile data to substantiate and utilize to resolve payer, system or escalated account issues - Assist new or existing staff with training or techniques to increase production and quality - Provide support for team members that may be absent or backlogged ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Conducts appropriate account activity on uncollected account balances with contacting third party payors and/or patients via phone, e-mail, or online. Problem solves issues and creates resolution that will bring in revenue eliminating re-work. Updates plan IDs, adjusts patient or payor demographic/insurance information, notates account in detail, identifies payor issues and trends and and solves re-coup issues. Requests additional information from patients, medical records, and other needed documentation upon request from payors. Reviews contracts and identify billing or coding issues and request re-bills, secondary billing, or corrected bills as needed. • Prepare, edit and ensure all claims are submitted accurately and timely per payer contract and guidelines. • Access client files and payer websites if necessary to verify information. • Provide timely responses to all written correspondence inquiries regarding claim/account status. • Manage claim assignments, via work queues and/or work lists and ensure proper follow up is performed on the accounts for cash resolution. • Keep supervisor advised of any compliance, system(s), and/or payer trend issues which may lead to untimely or inaccurate completion of claim submission/resolution. • Contact insurance carriers on a daily basis for claim status and patient information either by phone or website; determine reason for the lack of payment or underpayment. • Complete all assignments according to schedule. • Achieve and consistently maintain daily, weekly and monthly productivity and quality goals as determined by departmental needs and standards. • Must have the ability to Identify/resolve claim and or payer issues as they occur. • Perform other tasks as assigned to support the goals of the organization.
• The Account Receivable Representative is responsible for timely and effective AR follow-up with medical insurance institutions for medical claims. • The AR rep will review, analyze, and obtain necessary information from the payers to maximize collections from the outstanding AR and to document the notes clearly in the billing and workflow systems. • The AR rep will also need to coordinate with the Internal Offshore Team and with the Client to obtain relevant information to expedite the collections process.
