Lead Data Engineer

• Build, maintain, and optimize scalable data solutions to support Journey Analytics initiatives. • Maintain and refactor existing codebases, developing modular components. • Ensure high-quality, performant datasets for analytics and reporting use cases. • Maintain, optimize, and automate existing code repositories in GitHub. • Refactor legacy code to simplify maintenance, updates, and reuse across multiple use cases. • Design and build modular, reusable code components to support multiple journeys and reduce duplication. • Develop and manage automated data pipelines in Databricks to support Journey Analytics datasets and downstream reporting. • Consolidate key KPIs, metrics, and attributes into standardized data structures to enable flexible journey views. • Collaborate with analytics and engineering teams to improve data processes and architecture.

Job Requirements

  • Strong experience working with GitHub repositories and version control workflows.
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining data pipelines in Databricks.
  • Proven experience refactoring and maintaining legacy codebases.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and reusable component design.
  • Experience building scalable data models for analytics and reporting use cases.
  • Strong focus on data quality, performance, and reliability.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional environments and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of initiatives after receiving high-level direction, driving tasks forward with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal English for clear and effective communication.

Role Description @Orchard LLC is seeking an Informatica Automation Developer to support an HHS contract. While the role is work from home, the strong preference is for someone located in the Washington, DC Metro Area. You must hold an active secret clearance to be considered. As the Informatica Automation Developer, you will: - Design and implement end-to-end automated workflows across Informatica and non-Informatica applications using IICS/IDMC or PowerCenter to support payroll integration data. - Review, modify, and optimize Informatica procedures. - Diagnose and resolve Informatica and database-related issues that may arise during payroll processing, particularly during the high-risk stabilization window following deployment. - Implement complex data transformations. - Automate the build, versioning, and delivery of ETL objects into production environments using tools like GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps. - Develop and maintain automated test frameworks (often using Python or Informatica Data Validation) to verify data accuracy, schema validation, and transformation logic. - Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible to automate the provisioning and scaling of Informatica Secure Agents and cloud environments. - Manage Informatica user accounts and security administration, such as patching and upgrades as needed. - Implement database backup and recovery procedures for Informatica PowerCenter. - Develop and maintain technical artifacts as needed. - Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the manager. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of professional IT experience, with at least 3–5 years specifically focused on automation and data engineering. What You’ll Do - Be scrappy to find new sources of audio data and bring it into our ingestion pipeline - Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline, currently running on GCP and managed with Terraform. - Collaborate closely with our Scientists to shift the cost/throughput/quality frontier, delivering richer data at bigger scale and lower cost to power our next-generation models. - Collaborate with others on the AI Team and Speechify Leadership to craft the AI Team’s dataset roadmap to power Speechify’s next-generation consumer and enterprise products.
