Job Description

Technical Operations Engineer – Innovation

AlphaPet Ventures GmbH

• We are looking for someone who not only observes technical innovations but actively integrates them into our infrastructure. • You support the team responsible for infrastructure, DevOps and technical automation. • A particularly important part of your role is close collaboration with the Team Lead: you assist in preparing technical decisions, rapid prototyping and the rollout of new tools—especially AI-based solutions. • Develop our infrastructure further—you expand our deployment environments and automate where it noticeably improves stability, speed and transparency in everyday work. • Shape the DevOps culture—you take ownership of CI/CD, observability and security topics in the team’s day-to-day operations and ensure smooth processes. • Be a sparring partner for the Team Lead—you work closely with the Team Lead daily on architecture, workflows and current operational issues. • Pragmatically validate innovations—you use rapid prototyping to quickly test new ideas and technologies and assess their value for us. • Drive AI tools forward—you introduce new AI solutions, support onboarding and empower your colleagues through training and best practices.

Job Requirements

  • At least 8 years of professional experience in software development and demonstrable experience in full-stack web development (web technologies, backend & frontend)
  • Several years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure or platform engineering and experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring/observability systems and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Puppet, Terraform or similar)
  • Experience with workflow automation and AI tools (required)
  • Very good German and English language skills.

Benefits

  • Responsible, exciting and varied tasks with lots of creative freedom in a dynamic company that values flat hierarchies and an open, relaxed working atmosphere where everyone is on a first-name basis.
  • A friendly, open team of around 280 employees in Munich, Leipzig and Albourne (UK) with several beloved office dogs at our locations.
  • Flexible working hours (based on trust-based working time), home office options including a contribution toward your home office setup and the option to work from abroad for several months.
  • 28 days of vacation entitlement plus the option to take up to 20 days of unpaid leave as well as special leave!
  • Various internal and external development opportunities that you can select independently according to your interests.
  • Your mental health matters to us! Through the "OpenUp" platform you can anonymously participate in individual or group therapy sessions or have 1:1 meetings with licensed therapists.
  • Various employee discounts—for people and pets!
  • Regular team, company and family & friends events.
  • Need a break? Relax in our social area equipped with a foosball table or challenge your colleagues on our cozy sofa area to a Mario Kart battle (or another Nintendo Switch game)!
  • Don’t like reheated food? Ordering takeout take too long? Our office features a high-quality, fully equipped kitchen where you can cook or bake great dishes and cakes! Coffee, cocoa, tea and other chilled soft drinks such as water and juices, as well as fresh fruit, small snacks and a well-stocked candy drawer are available free of charge.
  • EGYM Wellpass membership: With our subsidized EGYM Wellpass membership you gain access to thousands of sports and wellness facilities—including gyms, swimming pools, climbing halls, yoga and Pilates studios and many other offerings. This lets you take care of your fitness and well-being flexibly and across Germany—exactly how it fits into your daily routine!
