Job Description

Substation Training & Quality Technical Manager

Ulteig

• Collaborate closely with the substation leadership team to ensure successful project outcomes. • Management oversight of all training & quality initiatives within the Substation Department. • Reviews quality reports and quality escapes to identify root cause of quality errors. • Lead the Substation Training Committee team to develop and continuously improve the internal training program curriculum. • Engages in the lessons learned process and identifies suggested updates to quality checklists as appropriate. • Maintains high levels of quality and responsiveness to meet internal and external client requirements in alignment with company expectations. • Directs the coordination of lunch and learn training opportunities. • Assesses industry trends and new technologies to ensure proper training of department staff, including collaboration with CADD Committee on technology and efficiency improvements. • Provides strategic direction, leadership and technical oversight for employees on achieving individual, team, department, and organizational performance goals. • Creates and manages team budget for financial responsibility. • Coaches, trains and develops technical engineering staff for growth and development opportunities. • Supports proposal efforts by developing quality control plan and schedule, providing resources by working with Proposal Development Team and Project Management group. • Participates and partners with members of the Sales team and engineers throughout the organization to promote revenue growth and expansion of services with existing and prospective clients.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering required from ABET accredited university or equivalent
  • 15+ years of experience in the Engineering field preferred, Substation experience preferred
  • PE registration is required
  • Must be analytical, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work in high-pressure situations while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, and collaborative attitude
  • Focused and passionate around internal engagement and maximizing development of others
  • Strong business acumen and industry knowledge
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, public and external agencies
  • High level of initiative and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with clear expectations and highly responsive, internally and externally
  • Excellent presentation and verbal/written communications skills
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access) and additional software knowledge depending on specialty.
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the US
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
