• Acts as Lead Engineer over protection & controls projects for medium to high voltage utility substations • Provides training to others with knowledge in electromechanical relays, microprocessor-based relays, and other related protection & controls topics • Develops engineering cost estimates for proposals • Oversees the preparation of equipment specifications, bid evaluations and procurement recommendations • Development of protection & control design submittals including bill of materials, one-line diagrams, AC three-line diagrams, DC schematics, communication diagrams, SCADA integration, cabling, wiring, and panel front views • Familiar with physical layouts of major equipment and verification of phasing • Ability to perform quality control checking of protection & control deliverables • Prepares complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles. • Collects, assimilates, and manages data for engineering work • Prepares a variety of engineering deliverables such as contract documents, project documents, and studies with little to no supervision • Understands and adheres to budget, schedule, and quality requirements • Demonstrates understanding of project phases, schedules and schedule recovery as it pertains to engineering production and deliverables • Actively seeks to understand client interests and drivers through project related client contact and through interaction and communication with project leadership • Support Business Development by providing technical information for sales proposals, or by pursuing other related activities as assigned by department managers • Continues to learn and develop knowledge and skills in departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and Commonwealth Associates policies and procedures

• Project Planning and Initial Phases: Scoping of Transmission Line Projects • Engineering Design: Design of Transmission Lines in PLS Cadd • Produce load sheets and drawings for custom steel poles • Design foundations using MFAD • Complete material list for transmission line projects • Assemble complete Issue for Construction specification books • Coordinate directly with the client and all other stakeholders throughout the project's life • Attend construction site visits as required

• Lead and manage large EPC projects from inception to completion, ensuring all project goals are achieved. • Represent the client’s interests, ensuring compliance with all project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. • Supervise and coordinate internal project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication. • Oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of power delivery infrastructure. • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, facilitating clear and effective communication. • Conduct site visits as needed to monitor project progress, address issues, and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets. • Work closely with a Project Manager to develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. • Coordinate design and engineering activities across various departments (e.g., Civil/Structural, Physical/Electrical, Systems Studies, Power Generation, P&C, etc.). • Implement quality control measures to ensure all project deliverables meet the required standards and specifications. • Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure smooth project execution. • Work independently and provide direction to less-experienced Engineers-in-Training (EITs) and Designers. Mentor, train, and supervise junior team members.
