Technical Recruiting Manager Department: Recruiting Employment Type: Full Time Location: Hawthorne, California Reporting To: Andrew VanCamp Compensation: $110,000 - $170,000 / year Description Venturi Astrolab, Inc. (Astrolab) is pioneering new ways to explore and operate on distant planetary bodies. We are singularly focused on designing, building, and operating a fleet of multi-purpose commercial planetary rovers to extend and enhance humanity’s presence in the solar system. We are seeking motivated, creative, and exceptional people to join our world-class team. As we scale our team of engineers, technicians, and innovators, we are looking for a Technical Recruiting Manager to drive the strategy and execution of technical hiring across the company while helping guide and develop the recruiting team. The Lead Technical Recruiter plays a critical role in building Astrolab’s engineering and technical teams. This role combines hands-on recruiting with leadership within the recruiting function, including guiding recruiters, supporting recruiting strategy, and partnering closely with engineering leaders to attract exceptional technical talent. This person will help shape the direction of technical recruiting at Astrolab while contributing directly to hiring some of the company’s most critical roles. What you'll do: - Lead full-cycle recruiting for complex technical roles including engineering, avionics, robotics, software, manufacturing, and other positions - Develop sourcing strategies to identify and attract top technical talent - Build and maintain pipelines of high-quality candidates for critical technical roles - Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and calibrate candidate profiles - Provide day-to-day guidance and support to recruiters across active searches - Help prioritize hiring efforts and ensure recruiting resources are aligned with company needs - Share best practices on sourcing strategies, candidate engagement, and recruiting execution - Support the continued development of recruiters through mentorship and coaching - Partner closely with engineering leaders and hiring managers to understand hiring priorities and timelines - Provide insights on talent markets and candidate availability - Advise and guide hiring managers on recruiting strategy, interview process structure, negotiations, and closing of candidates - Guide candidates through the recruiting process from outreach through offer - Ensure candidates receive a high-quality and professional interview experience - Partner with the People and Culture, IT, and Finance teams to maintain efficient recruiting workflows and systems - Identify opportunities to improve recruiting efficiency, quality, and speed - Help develop scalable recruiting processes that support company growth - Ensure data integrity via real time ATS updates to provide usable and accurate metrics and data What you'll bring: - 5+ years of technical recruiting experience, ideally in aerospace, robotics, hardware, or deep-tech environments - 3+ years of experience leading and growing a recruiting team - Proven experience recruiting for highly specialized engineering roles Benefits and Perks - Join a team of best-in-class engineers building the foundation of planetary surface exploration - Equity ownership in the company - Comprehensive health benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and mental health support - 401(k) plan with company match - Flexible PTO and parental leave - Home office set up reimbursement - Fully flexible and remote friendly work environment - Weekly lunch stipend, plus complimentary snacks and beverages on-site - Once a month social hour on-site with food and drinks
