Senior Software Development Engineer in Test
Coterie
• Design and execute comprehensive test plans and strategies for frontend and backend systems • Lead the development of automated tests using Playwright / Cypress for UI testing and Postman (or similar) for API testing • Perform manual testing for edge cases or when automation is not feasible • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and close gaps in test coverage • Support and advocate for quality across multiple agile teams, driving end-to-end, regression, and exploratory testing • Contribute to and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines • Monitor test results, triage failures, and provide clear feedback to development teams • Assist with production defect analysis and root cause investigation
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on automation
- Strong hands-on experience with: Playwright and/or Cypress for UI test automation
- Postman, Swagger, or similar tools for API testing
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, or C# for writing tests and debugging
- Deep understanding of functional, integration, regression, and E2E testing
- Strong analytical and communication skills—able to break down requirements into testable components
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and help shift testing left in the SDLC
- Experience working in an agile environment with modern CI/CD pipelines
