Senior Staff DevOps Engineer

• Architecting Solutions: You will be responsible for designing robust and scalable architectures on GCP to support the organization's applications and services. • Artificial Intelligence Platforms: You will lead efforts to provide agentic AI platform services to ensure Dexcom IT’s ability to scale and meet evolving automation needs. • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implementing Infrastructure as Code practices using tools like Terraform or Google Cloud Deployment Manager to automate the provisioning and management of resources across our cloud platforms. • Performance and Cost Optimization: Continuously monitoring and optimizing the performance of cloud systems to ensure optimal resource utilization, scalability, and reliability. • Security and Compliance: Implementing security best practices and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) in cloud environments. • Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and security teams, to ensure alignment on architecture decisions and implementation strategies. • Stay Updated: Keeping abreast of the latest developments and best practices in cloud computing, especially related to GCP.

Job Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 13+ years related experience or a Master’s degree and 8+ years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 5+ years of experience.
  • Deep expertise in GCP, and a familiarity with Azure and AWS.
  • Strong experience in GitOps/DevOps, GitHub, Github Runners, Backstage/Roadie, ArgoCD, and Cloud Deploy.
  • Hands‑on experience designing and operating enterprise AI platforms on GCP, including Vertex AI, Model Garden, Agent Engine, and ADK.
  • Strong understanding of agentic AI architectures (tool‑calling, orchestration, memory, RAG) with the ability to translate business / development needs into secure, reusable, scalable GenAI platform capabilities.
  • Expertise in K8S, proficiency in VMs, Cloud Run, and Serverless technologies will ensure success.
  • Leadership level of experience with IaC with Terraform Cloud and Ansible.
  • Deep understanding of cloud networking technology including VPCs, LBs, firewalls, etc.
  • Familiariy with data tech such as Big Query, Snowflake, MongoDB, and Cloud SQL (MariaDB, MSSQL).
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and work direction to junior staff, including both project and operational activities.
  • Ability to serve as the primary technical point on contact on incidents impacting services the team provides.
  • Ability to assist the Sr. Mgr in packaging and structuring operational work for execution,
  • Ability to assist the Sr. Mgr in developing technical processes, operating procedures, and metrics for services and technologies for which the team is responsible.
