Route & Optimization Analyst

Role Description The Route & Optimization Analyst (1099 Contractor) is responsible for designing, analyzing, and continuously improving routing strategies to maximize operational efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and improve service performance. This role leverages data analysis, optimization tools, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance fleet utilization and delivery execution. - Route Planning & Optimization - Develop and maintain optimized delivery and service routes. - Minimize mileage, fuel consumption, and labor hours while maintaining service levels. - Adjust routing strategies based on volume changes, customer requirements, and operational constraints. - Evaluate network design and recommend improvements. - Data Analysis & Reporting - Analyze transportation data to identify inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities. - Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, cost per mile, and route adherence. - Build dashboards and reports to support operational decision-making. - Conduct scenario modeling and forecasting to support strategic planning. - Continuous Improvement - Identify process improvement opportunities within transportation operations. - Support implementation of routing software enhancements and automation initiatives. - Conduct post-implementation reviews to measure impact of optimization initiatives. - Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with dispatch, warehouse, customer service, and operations teams. - Provide analytical support for transportation planning and execution. - Train operational staff on routing best practices and system usage. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Business, or related field preferred. - 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, route planning, or data analysis. - Experience with route optimization or transportation management systems (TMS) preferred. Requirements - Advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros, modeling). - Experience with SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools preferred. - Familiarity with routing or GIS software (e.g., Descartes, ORTEC, SAP TM, Manhattan, etc.). - Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is a plus. Job Summary: The Health Partner Incentive Analyst III is responsible for compiling and analyzing financial and clinical data related to health partner incentive programs.
