Job Title Director, Business Development - Life Sciences Job Description Summary We are seeking a proven, inspiring, and expert hands-on leader for C&W Services’ Business Development organization. Reporting to the VP of Business Development, the Director of Business Development, Life Sciences will be responsible for leading and executing the company’s Life Sciences business development growth strategy. As a member of the C&W Services Business Development team, this leader will partner with the Client Services VP, Life Sciences, and other leaders to develop and implement plans to increase profitable revenue while expanding the company’s client base across the Life Sciences vertical market. The ideal candidate will have experience leading growth initiatives in a facilities services, facilities management, or other relevant B2B services industry. This leader will be responsible for establishing the go-to-market strategy and will also play a key role in cultivating and converting business. While the primarily responsibility will be capturing new client acquisitions, the Director of Business Development, Life Sciences will partner closely with the VP, Client Services and the extended Client Services teams on targeted expansion and rebid opportunities. The role will also partner closely with the Commercial Operations team to build, direct, and utilize a new sales model through the launch of an end-to-end revenue generation engine. This engine encompasses targeting & segmentation, digital marketing, prospecting, and competitive solutioning, including pricing. The Director of Business Development, Life Sciences will leverage this new efficient model to expand pipeline, lower customer acquisition costs (CAC), and increase our win rates. This leader will be comfortable working with data and digital tools to identify opportunities, track progress and drive scalable, repeatable, and reliable sales processes. He/she will also pursue cross-sell activities across the various Cushman & Wakefield service lines and collaborate with cross divisional leadership to build integrated buyer solutions within the Life Sciences vertical market. This leader will be a strategic thinker with the ability to think outside the box to identify new growth opportunities. Guiding and mentoring clients through the entire process - Providing principal engineering support to various teams throughout a client’s digital transformation to a cloud native organization. - Spearheading strategic cost optimization initiatives, achieving multi-million dollar savings through infrastructure cleanups, license negotiations and dynamic scaling. - Understanding common cloud deployment models (private, public, hybrid) including platform types (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS) - Executing solution delivery engagements for both small and large cloud environments - Eminence building in the cloud industry through frequent publishing and speaking on relevant topics - Managing relationships with major cloud platform providers – AWS, Azure, GCP – including working with partner representatives, maintaining executive level relationships and cultivating sales channels - Recruiting top cloud talent through your network and eminence activities Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or graduate degree OR 10+ years of related work experience - High proficiency with popular cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) - High proficiency with the tools and techniques for securing multi-cloud and hybrid environments - Experience with private, public and hybrid cloud deployments - Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally - Ability to interact effectively with internal and external resources at all organizational levels - Excellent project management, organization, and follow-up skills - Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills - Must be a team player; able to work in virtual teams and independently - Willingness and ability to travel globally - Strong financial and business acumen, and ability to speak about technology in the language of business - Curiosity about business and technology; motivated with a desire to learn - Strong Knowledge of one of the following industries would be advantageous: - Financial Services and Insurance - Consumer Products - Technology - Industrials Technical Experience Cloud Platform Expertise Deep hands-on experience with one or more of the major hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP ) including core services like compute, storage, networking and managed services. Able to articulate cloud strategy and understand existing client architectures and propose new or improved solutions across platforms. This includes demonstrable understanding of additional platform specific capabilities and nuances, pricing models and limitations. Infrastructure and Architecture Strong foundation with on-premises infrastructure, virtualization ( VMWare, Hyper-V), networking protocols, storage architectures and data center strategy and operations. Understanding of hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity patterns. Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, ARM templates or CloudFormation. Application Modernization and Migration Strong understanding of cloud-native, modern and legacy application portfolios and experience with migration strategies. Understanding of standard application patterns and the use of containers (Docker, Kubernetes), microservices, serverless and API management. Experience with migration tooling and execution methodologies (7Rs framework). Security & Compliance Knowledge of cloud security frameworks, identity and access management, network security, data encryption and compliance requirements. Understanding of zero-trust architectures, security posture management and regulatory requirements. Automation and DevSecOps Understanding of CI/CD Pipelines, configuration management, observability and DevSecOps practices. At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range. Compensation Range: $134,000 - $269,000 Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
