Energy & Sustainability Intern
JLL
Role Description As a JLL Intern, you will tackle meaningful projects that impact our Commercial Real Estate business by collaborating with industry professionals and providing fresh perspectives to innovative teams. Our structured program balances professional development with exciting real-world experience. JLL’s Energy & Sustainability group is seeking an Energy & Sustainability Intern preferably based in the Greater Toronto Area to assist with decarbonization studies across the Americas. - Become familiar with terminologies, guidelines and processes relating to decarbonization for the built environment. - Conduct research on policy, incentives, initiatives across North America and synthesize the information to create tools, templates and present at internal learning sessions. - Review existing building information from site surveys, plans, historical utility data and research. - Identify opportunities for energy performance optimization and water efficiency. - Participate in building walk-throughs during energy audits and retro-commissioning feasibility assessments. - Support internal team with developing best practices and tools to analyze data and provide recommendations. - Investigate into new technologies and practices to enhance data management and visualization. - Analyze data by developing trends and share insightful findings with the project team members. - Collect building energy performance data for various jurisdictions and use it to benchmark buildings. - Support internal team with environmental, social, governance (ESG) data collection, prepping and analysis. - Support internal team with curation of presentations and report deliverables. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Must be currently enrolled in 3rd / 4th year or related Master’s program. - Have a passion for sustainability, energy efficiency in buildings and climate change issues. - Understanding of sustainability assessment systems (such as LEED, Green Globes, TCFD and BOMA Best) an asset. - Familiarity with data prepping and visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI. - Interpersonal, articulate, responsive, and highly organized. - Strong analytical skills and attention to details. - Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. - Ability to learn quickly and be highly motivated to seek out answers. Requirements - Full time, 16-week program from May 2026 to August 2026. - Estimated Compensation: $20-24/h. - Estimated compensation for this position: 36,400.00 – 43,680.00 CAD per year. - Location: Remote – Toronto, ON. - Opening Type: New Role. Job Requirements
