The Group Underwriter Sr is responsible for determining acceptability of insurance risks and appropriate premium rates for large, complex prospect employer groups in accordance with Corporate Underwriting Guidelines and Authority Limits. How You Will Make an Impact: - Calculates new business rates for complex group cases based on thorough analysis of the group's experience, industry, location, size, and demographic nature. - Coordinates with other departments to ensure the accuracy and consistency of account reporting. - Proposes rates and terms for group prospects, utilizing a combination of other carrier experience, demographic data and manual rates. - Prepares or supervises the preparation of annual settlements, ERISA reports, rate projections, or benefit change increments or decrement. - Communicates with sales, administration and claims to assess the rating and administrative impact or benefit and plan changes. Minimum Requirements: Requires a BA/BS in a related field; Minimum 4 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences: CPCU, CLU, LOMA, HIAA or other insurance related courses preferred.
