We’re expanding into mobile and looking for a Staff iOS Engineer to lead the creation of our very first iOS app, shaping how millions of users experience AI-driven shopping on mobile. The Role As a Staff iOS Mobile Engineer at Wizard AI, you will design and build our iOS client app from the ground up, owning its architecture, development, and performance. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, and ML teams to implement features that deliver real-time, AI-driven recommendations and personalized shopping experiences. This is a hands-on role with end-to-end ownership, from initial design through deployment and optimization, giving you a unique opportunity to influence both the mobile product and technical roadmap. What You’ll Do - Build the foundation of Wizard’s native iOS app, defining architecture, frameworks, and best practices. - Architect, develop, and ship iOS apps and extensions that integrate with our AI-driven shopping platform using the latest iOS development practices (SwiftUI, MVVM, etc.) - Collaborate with AI, platform, and product teams to integrate AI-powered recommendations and personalization features. - Manage iOS provisioning, App Store deployment, and ongoing maintenance. - Write comprehensive technical documentation and maintain CI/CD pipelines. What Success Looks Like - High-Impact Client Apps: Deliver iOS apps that are performant, stable, and delight users with AI-powered shopping experiences. - End-to-End Ownership: Take full responsibility for app architecture, feature delivery, testing, and performance optimization. - Influence & Mentorship: Shape mobile engineering standards, mentor engineers, and contribute to the technical roadmap for client apps. Ideal Background - 5–8+ years of iOS development experience with a strong portfolio of shipped production apps. - Expert in Swift and SwiftUI using the latest practices, with knowledge of Objective-C, Combine, UIKit, or other Apple technologies a bonus. - Strong understanding of iOS app architecture, asynchronous programming, performance optimization, and security best practices. - Experience with mobile app system design - Experience with full stack JavaScript/TypeScript (React; Node; Express/Koa) with production apps. - Expertise in SQL, relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), and familiarity with NoSQL (MongoDB). - Strong understanding of REST and GraphQL API design and consumption. - Proficiency with CI/CD, automated testing, Git/GitFlow, and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure). - Experience integrating AI/ML services into mobile apps is highly desirable. - Strong UX sensibility and ability to deliver user-friendly mobile/web experiences. - Comfortable mentoring engineers, leading code reviews, and influencing technical direction. - Experience in high-growth startups or fast-moving product environments is a plus. Compensation & Benefits The expected base salary range for this role is $180,000 – $210,000 USD, and will vary based on skills, experience, role level, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined by considering these factors alongside overall role scope and responsibilities.
