Job Description
Content Manager
Tekmetric
• Own Tekmetric’s content strategy (and actually execute it). Build an editorial roadmap that ladders to business priorities (category leadership, awareness/share of voice, and organic discovery), then ship content consistently, without an in-house content team behind you. • Build a content operating system that reduces “content by committee.” Create clear intake + briefing processes, lightweight approvals, editorial standards, and a repeatable workflow that helps SMEs contribute without slowing everything down. • Develop and protect a cohesive Tekmetric voice. Create (and enforce) voice/tone and writing guidelines, while being the quality bar across content touchpoints. • Create content for a non-traditional B2B audience. Produce practical, snackable, high-utility formats that meet auto repair shop operators where they are (think: short articles, checklists, scripts, swipeable guides, “how-to” playbooks that are genuinely quick, toolkits, customer-facing templates, short-form video concepts, and punchy email/social copy—vs. long white papers). • Drive “share of search” and “share of answer.” Partner closely with the SEO/website owner to: • identify the questions shop owners/advisors/technicians actually ask • build content that answers them better than anyone • structure and refresh content so it performs in both traditional search and AI-assisted discovery • Use AI as a leverage layer (not a substitute for taste): apply a “synthesize → structure → polish” workflow to turn messy raw inputs (SME interviews, call notes, transcripts, event debriefs, product docs, customer stories, competitive research) into clear briefs, outlines, and content toolkits, while ensuring every final narrative, headline, and POV is driven by human editorial judgment, brand voice, and audience truth. • Support share of voice through smart POV + story packaging. Work with Brand/PR to translate key narratives into content that increases visibility and “talkability,” helping Tekmetric earn mindshare in the market. • Source and craft SME speaker submissions for events/trade shows. Identify strong internal SMEs, interview them, draft session titles/abstracts, manage submission calendars, and package speakers in a way that gets accepted. • Turn customer outcomes into content people trust. Partner with Customer Advocacy to translate stories into assets (case studies, quotes, “what changed” narratives, talk tracks, and content that helps shops see themselves in the story). • Make distribution real (not an afterthought). Collaborate with Social + Design to plan distribution up front and repurpose content into channel-native formats (social series, email snippets, event talk tracks, landing page modules). • Measure what matters and iterate fast. Define success metrics with your partners (organic visibility, engagement, rankings, content-assisted pipeline signals where available, share of voice inputs), then run a steady improvement loop.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in content marketing, editorial, content strategy, or brand storytelling (in-house or agency), with a track record of shipping content consistently

- Proven ability to interview SMEs and convert expertise into content that sounds human and credible (not “marketing-ish”)
- Experience building (or rebuilding) content systems: editorial calendar, briefs, templates, approvals, and voice/tone guidelines
- Strong collaboration skills and comfort driving work cross-functionally
- Working knowledge of SEO/GEO fundamentals and content optimization; you can partner deeply with an SEO owner and understand what “good” looks like
- High craft standards, speed, and resilience in a fast-moving environment.
