Substation Engineering Lead – Physical
AECOM
• Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for substation scopes • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables • Develops estimates of technical efforts for projects • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings • Prepares technical specification sections • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements • Responsible for assisting with identification of key client interests and drivers • Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members • Develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work • Remove any impediments that are obstructing the engineering team from achieving its goals • Works to advise Management about how to maximize ROI for the team • Attending all client technical review meetings
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- 6 years of relevant high voltage substation design (physical) experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Professional engineer license (PE)
- Experience with use of AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation
- Experience with use of CDEGS, WinIGS
- 2-3 years of overseeing and managing a project team
- Knowledge of construction practices and constructability
- Experience with proposal writing and project estimating
- Working knowledge of scheduling and project controls processes
- EIT Certification
- Superior Verbal & Written Communications
- Good knowledge of the industry and technology trends specific to substations
- Strong familiarity with the NEC and National Electrical Safety Code
