Program Supplier Assurance Engineer

• Ensure flow down of product requirements both internally and to sub-tier suppliers through PO requirements, Quality Notes, and Statements of Work. • Interpret and explain these requirements to ensure supply base both understands and complies with these quality requirements. • Drive continuous product / process improvements of our supply base by identifying supplier risk & systemic performance issues and driving solutions through various tools/methodologies including: Root Cause Corrective Actions, Statistical/analytical improvement tools such as Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies. • Apply Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes related to supplier performance and implementation of necessary engagements to improve supplier manufacturing processes. • Perform defect data analysis and review with the program managers and supplier management, which will assist in developing Supplier improvement plans. • Lead and participate in multi-functional teams in problem resolution and continuous improvement activities with an emphasis on six sigma, lean practices and other analytical improvement methods and tools. • Identify and document supplier risk; develop mitigation plans to reduce, eliminate and prevent supplied product defects. • Support containment activities associated with discrepant material, with assistance from functional stakeholders. • Drive the supplier corrective action process, review, approval and monitoring; assure containment, closed loop Root Cause Corrective Action is obtained; communicate issue and resolution to functional stakeholders. • You should anticipate some travel (Up to 25%) to support supplier assessments, audits, reviews at supplier locations.

Job Requirements

  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience with one or more of the following Quality Management standards: ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9102, AS9103, AS9145, or MDA Assurance Provisions.
  • Previous experience interpreting schematic drawings and hardware inspection techniques.
  • Experience implementing modern Quality Assurance and Control methodologies such as Statistical Process Controls (SPC), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Continuous Improvement in a supplier setting.
  • Previous experience generating and presenting to leadership and suppliers key metrics and performance reviews.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Role Description Otto Aerospace is seeking a Senior Engineer, Airframe Stress Analysis to be a member of our team. The ideal candidate has relevant stress analysis experience and a willingness to learn. Otto Aerospace is seeking engineers who are comfortable working from first principles, work great in a team atmosphere, and get things done. The successful candidate will join the Structural Analysis department. This department employs classical and finite element analysis techniques to substantiate structure to the requirements. Additionally, they issue inspection plans to ensure the structure's continued airworthiness throughout the aircraft's lifetime. They also author governing documents and test documents, and specifications related to the aircraft structure to be consumed in the design, analysis, inspection, and repair of Otto aircraft. What You'll Do - Perform stress analysis of metallic and composite structural components, assemblies, and systems to provide inputs to the design and ensure structural integrity. - Author, review and approve analysis documentation. - Create and/or utilize Finite Element Models (FEM). - Perform Durability and Damage Tolerance (DADT) assessments. - Review and approve the engineering definition for release in the product lifecycle system (PLM). - Author, review and approve structural test plans and reports. - Compare structural test results to analytical models (test vs Finite Element Model). - Develop stress analysis tools and methodologies. - Support multi-disciplinary configuration development and trade studies. - Interface with materials & processes, structural test laboratories, flight test, manufacturing, and customers/regulation authorities. - Review, guide and support programs for new, supplemental, and experimental certification under FAR Part 23 sub part C & D. - Mentor junior team members.
