• Leads, mentors, and grows a high-performing engineering team through regular 1:1s, coaching, and career development conversations. • Owns hiring, onboarding, and performance management to build an inclusive, high-trust team culture. • Guides design and architecture decisions to satisfy business requirements based on the product roadmap and vision. • Makes recommendations based upon established vision and associated analysis in order to satisfy tactical, operational, and strategic needs. • Partners with Product, Design, and business stakeholders to align on priorities, refine requirements, and communicate engineering progress. • Drives OKR planning, execution, and cross-team coordination to consistently deliver on commitments. • Designs sustainable solutions and processes that minimize developer support and intervention. • Identifies and mitigates technical risk early, escalating blockers and tradeoffs to leadership proactively. • Fosters a team culture of engineering excellence.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 3+ years of engineering management or tech lead experience, with a demonstrated track record of growing engineers and delivering complex projects.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment with CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) and their tradeoffs.
  • Experience with highly scalable distributed systems capable of handling millions of requests.
  • Experience working with and maintaining RESTful APIs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to discuss complex topics with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and retain engineering talent.

Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $144,200.00 - $288,400.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
