• Define and execute the long-term strategy for the organization’s data platform and database infrastructure • Lead the design and implementation of cloud-based data warehouse architecture using Snowflake • Lead modernization of the organization’s data ingestion and transformation architecture toward modern ELT patterns • Oversee database platforms including Azure PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Snowflake • Establish enterprise data governance, security, and access control frameworks

• Leads the delivery of net-new infrastructure capabilities, major upgrades, and automation across cloud, virtualization, network, and storage platforms. • Establishes and operates a dedicated platform engineering function that delivers reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure while reducing manual effort and operational toil through automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). • Serves as a champion for modern platform practices, enabling service teams to operate efficiently while positioning Infrastructure Engineering as a strategic partner to the business. • Assists with capacity planning, prioritization, and resource allocation across delivery and automation workstreams. • Builds cross-functional capability and cross-training to ensure resilience and continuity of delivery. • Contributes to strategic planning and roadmap development for infrastructure platforms and capabilities. • Defines and enforces clear boundaries between Platform Engineering (Tier 3, delivery, automation) and services teams (Tier 1/2 operations) and ensures effective escalation paths and collaboration with service teams. • Drives adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation frameworks, and reusable modules to reduce manual effort and hand-offs. • Ensures infrastructure changes and additions follow defined quality, change management, and security processes prior to production release. • Establishes and leads the Platform Engineering team responsible for Tier 3 engineering remediation, net-new builds, major upgrades, and infrastructure modernization.

The selected candidate will join the team responsible for engineering and operating large-scale GPU and compute platforms that power AI/ML and high performance computing workloads across multiple datacenters. The team manages Kubernetes-based GPU environments, cluster infrastructure, and the supporting systems that enable internal engineering teams to train models, run simulations, and develop advanced software at scale. This role focuses on building reliable, scalable GPU platforms and helping internal users successfully run AI/ML and high-performance workloads on Kubernetes and related compute infrastructure. - Design, implement, and support GPU/Kubernetes clusters and supporting infrastructure - Supporting AI/ML training, simulation, and HPC workload customers - Develop automation and tooling for cluster provisioning, configuration management, and platform operations - Collaborate with application and research teams to optimize workloads running on GPU infrastructure - Implement monitoring, observability, and performance tuning across GPU and compute platforms - Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across compute, networking, and container platforms (occasional on-call support) - Contribute to platform reliability, scalability, and operational best practices - Produce clear technical documentation and operational runbooks Must Have: - 5+ years of Linux systems engineering or infrastructure experience - 2+ years working with container platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift - Familiarity with Kubernetes GPU scheduling and related tooling - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and platform engineering practices - Experience operating compute infrastructure for high-performance workloads or large distributed systems - Strong scripting or programming skills (Python, Bash, or similar) - Experience building infrastructure automation and operational tooling - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across complex infrastructure systems - Ability to communicate clearly with both platform engineers and application teams - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technical initiatives simultaneously Nice to Have: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience - Experience with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar - Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.) - Experience with high-speed networking technologies such as InfiniBand or RDMA You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
