Role Description The Director of DevOps is responsible for leading and transforming our DevOps and cloud engineering function to support a scaling, enterprise-grade SaaS platform. This role owns our cloud infrastructure strategy and execution across AWS (primary) and Azure, ensuring our systems are reliable, secure, cost-effective, and built to scale. As Director of DevOps, you will lead a growing team of DevOps engineers while remaining technically credible and strategically engaged. You will: - Reduce outages and eliminate critical incidents. - Strengthen our security and compliance posture. - Optimize infrastructure spend. - Enable continuous deployment across our primary platform. This role is ideal for a leader who has successfully built or matured a DevOps function within a scaling SaaS organization and is motivated by driving operational excellence, reliability, and platform maturity in a high-accountability environment. Qualifications - 8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles within SaaS environments. - 3+ years of experience leading and developing DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure teams. - Deep experience with AWS in production, enterprise-scale environments. - Experience managing multi-region cloud architectures. - Strong experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads. - Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform required; CloudFormation preferred). - Experience designing and operating CI/CD systems (Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions). - Demonstrated track record improving uptime and reducing critical production incidents. - Experience handling PII and operating within enterprise compliance environments (e.g., SOC 2). - Proven success driving cloud cost optimization initiatives. - Strong architectural judgment and ability to balance reliability, scalability, and cost.
